Good day, everyone. Let me say a few things about myself. Besides what little I put in my forum profile, for the last few years I have been mildly obsessed with the assassination of President Kennedy. My folks took me to see Stone’s “JFK” when I was around 11 and I’d already seen the Zapruder film on television and been puzzled just by that alone. But starting in 2005 it was a new hobby charting through all the amazing stuff available on the web. Being what I am, just getting to read Angleton’s declassified testimony to the HSCA on the subway was enough to keep me happy. But after briefly putting the hobby aside, the subject came back to me with a vengeance in early 2007. Certain books should really be considered heroic works- ‘Breach of Trust’ by Professor McKnight and Newman’s ‘Oswald and the CIA,’ stand out to me. The late George Michael Evica’s ‘A Certain Arrogance’ is a labyrinth unto itself- what a history! Mary Ferrell’s site is another heroic work. So many more it would take up the whole post.
But I’ve reached a point where I’m just happy to read straight testimony, be it Warren, HSCA or whatever. And that’s where my request to you all comes in. Although I’ve paid for a membership to Mary Ferrell, the site’s document reader gets a bit tedious after the first hundred pages. I would appreciate if anyone could point me to testimony from the Rockefeller Commission and Church Committee’s boxed files in a format where the entire session could be printed in one shot, like a multi-page pdf. History Matters and the AARC have some Church stuff but not the juice- the testimonies- gangsters, CIA men, Sturgis, Loran Hall- so much. I’d even be willing to pay a fee if someone has some of it on paper and doesn’t want to waste their time copying or scanning. Feeding pages into a machine is boring work deserving of payment.
There are just so many pages of testimony from 1974-75 and it makes for better reading than what they have at Borders or B&N. For instance, right now I’m almost done with the first session of Elmer Moore to the Church Committee. Someone’s copier needed new toner. If I lived in DC I’d do some of the leg work and get the stuff scanned. (I don’t even know how the archives really work, forgive my ignorance) Anyway, I hope some of you will understand where I’m coming from with this request, my only request- I promise. Besides this all I have are a few questions that I may toss around once in a blue. Thank you for listening.

Welcome Phil. IMO the movie "JFK" is the perfect summary of the crime. Stone nailed it, really did his homework.

Thanks for the words of welcome. Yes, I keep coming back to the film JFK- simply getting that much of a story this big onto the big screen in an entertaining way was an achievement. And with an all-star cast to stand the test of time! Only I wish Oldman did that haunting mid-west accent like the real Oswald. Stone got many of the assassination documents released- he served his country as a soldier and then as an artist/historical critic. So what if he said some dumb stuff after 9-11? Actions speak louder than words and he definitely showed and proved through hard work.

Exactly. The documents that were released (or supposed to be released...) in the wake of the "JFK" movie are a testament to what one person can accomplish.
And I though Oldman was amazing as Oswald! Spot on.
