July 16-17, 2012 -- SPECIAL REPORT. African-American entertainment promoters cite institutional racism at firm run by Ari Emanuel, brother of key Obama political advisers

Leonard Rowe, the veteran promoter of such black entertainers as Michael Jackson, his sister Janet Jackson, and Toni Braxton, and Marcus Washington, who was fired by the William Morris Endeavor Agency (WME), the largest talent agency representing some of America's top stars, for complaining about institutional racism at the firm, have charged that William Morris Endeavor and other agencies like Creative Artists Agency (CAA), practice institutional racism against African-American promoters and agents. At a meeting of the McClendon Group at the National Press Club on July 11, Rowe also charged that agencies like William Morris have systematically seized control of the artistic works of some of America's biggest black entertainers, including Jackson, particularly after they become "crossover" artists from the black to pop music genre. Rowe and Washington were introduced by former Georgia Congresswoman and 2008 Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney.

WME is headed by Ari Emanuel, the brother of Chicago mayor and former Obama White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and Ezekiel Emanuel, the Obama administration's key policy adviser who helped formulate "Obamacare."

Ari Emanuel's Endeavor Agency merged with the 112-year old William Morris Agency in 2009. In 2002, Emanuel faced charges of racism after he rejected a script about Navy SEALs starring black actor Wesley Snipes. Emanuel reportedly said, in rejecting the script, "That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Everyone knows that blacks don't swim."

Emanuel's racism, coupled with the traditional racism of William Morris, continues to permeate WME, according to Rowe and Washington. Attempts to raise WME's racism with such pressure groups as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), Urban League, Martin Luther King Center, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) have been stymied, according to Rowe and Washington. Ari Emanuel is a top donor to congressional Democrats who predominate in the CBC. In addition, the NAACP, Urban League, and Martin Luther King Center have, for many years, received financial support from wealthy liberal Jews, many of whom Ari Emanuel counts among his friends.

Marcus Washington hoped to advance up the ladder when he first joined William Morris in 2008 as the company's first African-American employee. However, it became clear that the company, before and after Emanuel took over the reins, was a hotbed of racism in its employment and hiring practices. Washington said that although William Morris represents such top black stars as Bill Cosby, Denzel Washington, and Halle Berry, it is a female Jewish agent who controls the portfolios of the black entertainers. Rowe said it is standard procedure for firms like William Morris and the Howard Rose Agency to take over the representation of black entertainers after their appeal extends beyond the African-American community. He cited Lionel Richie as one such example. In his book, "What Really Happened to Michael Jackson, The King of Pop: The Evil Side of the Entertainment Industry," Rowe writes: "After leaving The Commodores, Lionel Richie became a 'crossover artist' and also became a client of The Howard Rose Agency. He then was taken away from black concert promoters and given to white concert promoters to reap the benefits of his successful career." According to Rowe and Marcus Washington, the "white promoters" and agents with WME, CAA, and Howard Rose are almost exclusively Jewish.

Rowe, who was once the head of the Black Promoters' Assocsation, says that today all black promoters are "extinct."

Marcus Washington raised the issue of corporate racism with WME's human resources department but was forced to agree to waive all his rights and agree not to take his discrimination case to the courts in return for a five-month severance pay package and termination of employment.

Rowe and Washington have sued WME but they charge that the political influence of WME has ensured that two U.S. judges of the U.S. Circuit for the Southern District of Manhattan, chief judge Loretta Preska and Robert P. Patterson have engaged in an unethical conspiracy with attorneys for WME who have, in turn, conspired with Rowe's former attorneys at the law firm Gold, Farrell and Marks, including partner Martin Gold, to relegate the matter to politically-tainted arbitration proceedings.

Rowe has sued 34 companies over alleged discriminatory practices and, through discovery, has obtained internal William Morris Agency emails that contain the terms "spade," "monkey," "colored," "nigger," "negro," "spook," "uncle tom," "nigga," and "coon." After he was fired by William Morris, Marcus Washington was approached by an employee of CAA who told him to "get the e-mails." Rowe obtained the incriminating emails through the discovery process and, in addition to the racist terms, said it is clear that the management of William Morris and other agencies have as their main policy, "do not make blacks aware," when it comes to contract and promotion issues. Files obtained through discovery from the Howard Rose Agency referred to the promotion of Lionel Richie's concerts with the caveat "No Blacks."

Jewish lobbyist Jack Abramoff used similar racist language to describe his native American clients, the Saginaw Chippewa tribe. Abramoff called the native Americans "fucking troglodytes," "morons," and "monkeys."

Rowe has charged that his own defense attorneys, who are Jewish, colluded with the firms' attorneys and the judges to suppress the racist emails. Rowe also said that his case has been suppressed by the media because "those who control William Morris also control the media." It is noteworthy that the media has largely ignored the issue of systematic and institutional racism practiced by largely Jewish companies against minorities and non-Jews. WMR has previously reported how The Wall Street Journal, owned by Rupert Murdoch, almost exclusively hires Jews for its editorial and news reporting staffs. The paper avoids charges of employment discrimination against non-Jews by pointing to a few top editors, mostly brought over to New York from Murdoch papers in London, while ignoring the fact that the rank-and-file staffs are almost 100 percent Jewish.

In answer to a question posed by WMR about actor Randy Quaid's charge that a number of Hollywood stars have fallen victim to "star whackers," having been murdered for their royalties and other intellectual property assets, Rowe replied, "Randy Quaid is 100 percent correct." Quaid, who has received political asylum in Canada, charged that Michael Jackson, Chris Penn, Heath Ledger, and David Carradine all fell victim to murder in order that their assets be seized. Rowe adds Whitney Houston, as well as Peter Lopez, the entertainment attorney for Jackson, to the list. Houston was found drowned in a hotel bath tub, while Lopez reportedly shot himself at his California home.

Rowe said that with Jackson's suspicious death, the Jewish entertainment not only control Jackson's assets but also those of The Beatles and Elvis Presley. Jackson bought the catalogues of both entertainment giants, something that never sat well with Jewish Hollywood, who wanted all the assets back at all costs.

Rowe writes about a conversation he had with Jackson in which Jackson cited his mistreatment in a partnership deal with DreamWorks, particularly by the firm's principals Steven Spielberg and David Geffen.

Rowe also cites Jackson's will that surfaced after his death. Randy Jackson, Michael's younger brother, told Rowe that the will, allegedly signed by Michael Jackson at 5 p.m. on July 7, 2002 in Los Angeles could not have been authentic because Jackson was in new York City that day. The appearance of the fraudulent will and a criminal conspiracy involving Jackson's attorney, accountants, and business agents appear to verify what Quaid said about collusion of his own attorneys, bankers, accountants, and business agents to seize his own royalties.

From WMR, April 15, 20-11:

According to the Jerusalem Post, FBI files show that the terrorist Jewish Defense League (JDL) ran an extortion-via-death threats operation to extort money from various rapper artists, including Tupac Shakur and Eazy-E.

The partially-redacted FBI document states, "
The scheme involves [name redacted] and other subjects making telephonic death threats to the rap star," the files state. "Subjects then intercede by contacting the victim and offering protection for a fee. The victim and their family are taken to a safe haven,' usually a private estate, and are protected by gun-toting body guards associated with the Jewish Defense League."

Eazy-E, the owner of Ruthless Records of Woodland Hills, California, who was also known as Eric Wright, died from AIDS in 1995 and Shakur was shot to death in 1996 in a gangland-style hit in Las Vegas after having been threatened with the extortion/protection from murder scheme hatched by the JDL. The FBI document states that the FBI was investigating the "extortionate activities" of a JDL suspect. The extortion, according to the FBI document, was to further the "social and/or political goals of the Jewish Defense League."

Shakur's killers were never caught and the FBI document appears to indicate that the Los Angeles Field Office of the FBI may have been under political pressure from Washington to not pursue the JDL lead in the assassination of Shakur. The Los Angeles office requested several extensions to investigate the leads pointing to the JDL extortion scheme. Eazy-E was admitted to Cedars Sinai Medical Center on February 24, 1995 with symptoms believed to be asthma. On March 16, the rapper announced that he had AIDS and ten days later, Eazy-E was dead.

An FBI Los Angeles message to FBI headquarters, dated April 15, 1997, indicates that the JDL extortionists had targeted, in addition to Shakur and Eazy-E, other "victims yet unidentified." The use of the term "victim" would indicate that other entertainers had also been murdered by the JDL criminal syndicate. The FBI document states that the JDL used physical and psychological intimidation against their targets and in one case a JDL operative stated to a target, "Don't you know who I am. I'm with the JDL."

The FBI Los Angeles office also requested permission to interview Connie Bruck, the author of a July 7, 1997, article in the New Yorker Magazine titled "The Takedown of Tupac."

Movie actor Randy Quaid was hounded and ridiculed over his assertions that there was a group of "Hollywood Whackers" who were trying to extort money from various celebrities and threatening their lives. Ultimately, Quaid and his wife fled to British Columbia, Canada.

The recent FBI documents lend merit to Quaid's description of the group targeting celebrities. However, given the fact that the criminal operation was that of a Jewish terrorist group and that Hollywood is controlled by a number of wealthy Jewish producers and businessmen, Quaid may have shied away from using the "J" word in his description of the " star whackers." However, the FBI, according to the recently-released document on Shakur and Eazy-E, apparently had no interest in masking the religious affiliation of the extortion-hit team.

On November 5, 2010, WMR reported: "
The Quaids say that Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger, and Chris Penn were all murdered. Randy Quaid also believes his brother, actor Dennis Quaid, with whom he is estranged, is under threat.

All died of drug cocktails of prescription drugs leading to cardiac arrest. The cardiologist who is related to these cases in Conrad Murray, a police cardiologist who was also Michael Jackson's personal physician at the time of his death. Jackson allegedly died from an overdose of prescription drugs and the Los Angeles Police Department originally treated the singer's death as a homicide . . .
Quaid also believes that actor Robert Blake was set up in the murder of his wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley. In 2005, Blake was found not guilty of murdering his wife or of soliciting assistance in her murder. However, Blake was later found civilly liable for his wife's death."

WMR's report also stated: "
There are also suspicions about the 1999 death of director Stanley Kubrick, who died from a reported heart attack in England just four says after he attended a screening of his last movie, "Eyes Wide Shut," with his family and Warner Brothers executives." The movie is about a semi-religious sexual cult that features ritualistic secret orgies attended by members of the New York City wealthy elite who engage in human sacrifices.

Rowe summed up Hollywood's methods, based solely on financial interests, as never changing, declaring that the entertainment industry has never shown any "compassion or sensitivity."
