THis guy never quits does he? Now he tries to spread his C day stuff to Nixon and Watergate.

Question, why did he invite Newt Gingrich to a comic book convention back in Georgia?

Jim In my opinion he never gets it on purpose. It's not his job to tell the truth. It's to continue the bs. Good and thorough review.
Two questions: 1. What do you believe Watergate was all about and 2. What did you think of the reply by "Telly"?

Have a great Labor Day!

Well, I think that the Plumbers crimes did originate over the attempt to find what LBJ had on the GOP breaking up his peace initiative. Nixon was really nutty about that. Rightfully so.

As per the actual Watergate break ins, to me that is still murky. I think its was a combination of both O'Brien and Oliver. That is the Hughes connection with O"brien and the attempt to get McGovern into the nomination, which Oliver was trying to stop.

But as for the arrests that night, I think that was a deliberate sabotage job.

Waldron's book gets all of the above wrong in spades.

As per Telly, I think that theory and that Mathis book are nutty.

Pendent la deluge, Lamar*. There is very good reason Les is getting more airtime on CNN. The old Watergate Narrative is breaking down, so they break out Les, "The Scrambler". We should all post this around. Great intro to more reading for a lot of people who have not done any background reading on real Watergate.

*sorry, earlier I called him Les. I think I was confusing him with a minor league pitcher in the Cardinals organization.. during a very long organizational dry spell typified by the drafting of no-Ceiling college pitchers.

Yes Jim, I saw it at the gym, which is the only time CNN can attack my system. It was about 40 days ago I think or maybe 2 months ago. He was talking really really fast.

I wish that Lamar will join this forum and face the music.

It will never happen.

See, in JFK circles Waldron has no credibility anymore. No one buys his unsubstantiated ideas.

So what he has decided to do is to 1.) Go directly to the public through useful idiots like Liz Smith and Thom Hartmann, and cable TV and 2.) Branch out into a new area, e.g. Watergate, thereby avoiding people who already know him too well.

Almost right.

Waldron decides nothing.

Useful idiots never do.
