While bored and eating breakfast I decided to see what the enemy was doing. My timing was good because CNN proceded to do a piece on natural gas fracking. The anchor "Carol" had an Ohio farmer on who proceded to praise the benefits of fracking and his rosy experience with it on his Ohio farm. They showed a small wellhead that fit right into a leafy forest floor inobtrusively and looked no different than house water pipes and meters. The farmer then proceeded to tell of his good experiences and how fracking revived the local economy. He then proceeded to tell how there were no water problems because the water table was at 300 feet while the fracking was done at one mile. There was no opposing guest. "Carol" then asked if he would say who he was voting for? The farmer said "Romney" and added "who would you want leading the country, someone who was successful at business or someone who wasn't?" The softball had been lobbed by "Carol" and hit out of the park by the obvious gas shill farmer as intended. Never once did "Carol" mention that fracking has actually proven to be a nightmare for locals creating damaging earthquakes and destorying well water for locals who then have to pay for drinking water in order not to be poisoned. Nor was it ever mentioned that many rural locals now have tap water that ignites and makes flames when lit. Meanwhile you can look on the internet to see an average gas drilling pad that looks like an Alaskan slope operation with 6 acres of gravel, tractor trailer trucks, loud polluting generators, drilling rig, and the whole shebang.
This is a criminal act of corporate deception by CNN posing as journalism. No doubt riding in on the coat-tails of the corporate non-disclosure acts introduced by Congress. CNN and its advertizers should be proactively divested and their station shut down.
