1) He knows the West wants to dismember Russia, and he does not at this point have the strength to resist all the onslaught. He's buying time. Under this scenario, Putin is a true patriot, and is trying to escape the trap laid for Russia in WWI.
2) He wants to be a part of the NWO and hopes to buy time to be included. Think Donald Trump. This will mean a slow transition to Russia becoming a Western nation.
3) The fix is already in; he is a version of Yelstin and is playing a role in a slow sell off of Russia to "investors." In this scenario, Putin is a part of the end of the first world war -- thesis, antithesis, synthesis. Therefore he can engage in what appear to be half-hearted or even bumbling attempts to stop the West.
The data points for these ideas are the following: trying to push the Donbass back into Ukraine, the premature pull-out from Syria, and his commitment to the Russian Central Bank following the rules laid out for it by a constitution written for it by the US.
Right now, I think he is a combination of 2 and 3.
I vote for Door number 1.
Half-hearted, bumbling?? Like military exercises in the South China Sea, dismissing the Baltic Fleet Commander because training was not up to standard, deploying Mach 6 cruise missiles, etc. etc.?
