That's a logical fallacy. Perhaps the motivations were more along the influences detailed by many, including DiEugenio and Heidenheimer, for the false left. Whatever the motivation there's no excuse for leaving out the true history of the Kennedy Assassination. To me Lane is a hero, but it could be said he didn't press the full evidence to its conclusion as much as Douglass.
