And CIA overthrew other governments, so they're only getting what's coming to them. Or something like that. And the laughable attempt to fluff up the term "McCarthyism!" - the last refuge of countless cornered rats in American politics for the last 50 years (most of them Republicans, oddly enough). And David apparently thinks that the current Russian regime is still a Marxist-Leninist one, and worth defending somehow.
The "new McCarthyism" critique is a crock and a half.
First of all, Putin and Obama negotiated the mutual reduction of nukes, the removal of chemical weapons from Syria and nuke material from Iran.
This deprived "the Deep State" of it's only rationales for wider war.
That's why Putin and Obama haven't been given anywhere near the amount of credit for these epochal, game-changing negotiations -- the Mighty Wurlitzer carried far more criticism of the Syria/Iran deals than praise.
The Dominionist Proto-Autocracy -- well represented in law enforcement, intelligence and military circles --wants war with Iran but now their hands are tied and Trump obviously doesn't have the make-up of a strong leader. When he refused to shake Angela Merkel's hand he held his little mitts as to defend from getting hit in the nuts again.
The CIA wasn't opposed to Trump until after the election.
What tune was the Mighty Wurlitzer playing over the last 11 days of the 2016 Election? Were the airwaves full of Russian Donnie stories? No, it was all about Hillary and some pervert's e-mail.
They wanted Trump in hopes he could spur permanent war with Islam, but he quickly made it clear he doesn't pack the gear for world leadership.
