And yet this article is at least partially an attempt by JFK, less than 10 days after the Bay of Pigs, to ask the press to try to understand why he is asking them to tolerate traditional "Hot War" disclosure secrecy during an unusual "Cold War" set of conditions.
Once JFK was fully briefed on what happened at The Bay of Pigs, he probably went through the roof and issued his "...break the CIA into a million pieces" statement.
His mention of secret societies, upon further review, was more likely a potshot at SKOM, SMOM and The John Birch Society, plus some of The Masons and the like. He was in the mode of defending the CIA info-gap at this point I think.
Dawn, are there really any large numbers of members of the younger generation who are taking this up seriously?
There are only a handful of under 40 types on these sites that I can see. Most of those over 40 have pigeon holed themselves into a narrow specialty and refuse to widen their breadth or their scope even with all the new information about MissSovComm, SMOM, ManCand, SKOM, WACL, IAAEE, The Pioneer Fund, United Fruit, SISS and the like coming out every year.
I mean there have been 25 books published on United Fruit, the Prestons, the Paines, the Cabots, the Lodges, etc. and The Banana Wars with Smedley Butler in the last 8-12 years and NO ONE but me seems to even know that. What gives here?
And there were about the same number on The Pioneer Fund, Wickliffe Draper and Company, Who financed Hitler? or IAAEE, Eugenics and the Far Right Wing and no one even seems to even notice. Someone is doing a great job in pulling the wool over America's eyes on these topics.
