As an editorial aside--I've long been surprised that Klein didn't mention him more in The Shock Doctrine given that he and she seem to see eye to eye on the free market missionaries rampaging across the globe. She does mention him in passing as one of the few good guys in big time economics, but that's about it.
Another editorial aside, he talks as if he believes that those involved in the economic meltdown were merely mistaken and not predatory. I wonder if he really believes that or if he's simply being diplomatic.
I use several articles and one book by Stiglitz in my Globalization class. From what I know of him and his past, he believes they are misguided, only. He is very conservative still, and a firm believer (in theory) of the current system. So, correct in his analysis, but blind as to the cause and the real problem - i.e. in denial, and just can't 'go there'. IMO
