I read with great interest your long article at the link provided above by Lauren.
From the Higgins memo of 25 September 1963:
He considers it as a parallel in history; i.e., the plot to kill Hitler; and this plot is being studied in detail to develop an approach.
Valkyrie was aided by Allen Dulles and Mary Bancroft. Allen was in Dallas just weeks before the assassination visiting Lee Oswald's "landlady" Ruth Paine, whose husband's mother's long friend was Mary Bancroft.
There is a powerful irony in the use of the Hitler plot as model: As shown by Gehlen, Gesevius et al, paperclip, U.S. intelligence, CIA specifically has been tight with German.
Craig Roberts:
Gehlen had been planning this move for months. He noted in his memoirs that, "Early in 1944 I told my more intimate colleagues that I considered the war lost and we must begin thinking of the future...and plan for the approaching catastrophe."
By using certain trusted contacts within the German High Command who had both pre-war and current business dealings across national boundaries, Gehlen had coordinated a deal with a specified contact within the American intelligence community. Namely Allen Dulles.
Dulles knew Gehlen was coming. In April, one month before the war ended, and forty-five days before Gehlen surrendered to Bokor, Dulles ordered an aide to begin talks with the German general through intermediaries in Berlin.
Dulles had been DCI when Eisenhower approved a plan to change the regime in Cuba. This we know is what CIA always does on demand.
Under Dulles Helms tasks Harvey with an offer for Castro.
On 12th March, 1961, William Harvey arranged for CIA operative, Jim O'Connell, to meet Sam Giancana, Santo Trafficante, Johnny Roselli and Robert Maheu at the Fontainebleau Hotel. (per Ronald Kessler, CIA at War.)
Also from Kessler:
At a meeting of this committee at the White House on 4th November, 1961, it was decided to call this covert action program for sabotage and subversion against Cuba, Operation Mongoose. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy also decided that General Edward Lansdale (Staff Member of the President's Committee on Military Assistance) should be placed in charge of the operation.
Surely Mongoose (Get Castro) was plausible denial for Kill Kennedy. Also November 1961 Allen Dulles resigns. He calls in Howard Hunt for a book. And for other matters.
I would like to see your brilliant Valkyrie theme developed in The Movie for 2013.
A few exceptions which ought not detract from the whole:
Waldron put me to sleep. Even Douglass required only 400 pages of text, 100 pages of notes; not 900 pages.
A Liz Smith and Waldron link does not add to anything.
The comments of Volkmar Schmidt seem to stipulate that Lee shot at Walker. That cannot be true. Two men left in two cars, the evidentiary bullet was switched (which angered Walker), the police did not consider Oswald a suspect until Marina fingered him--after he was dead I believe.
Any suggestion the weapon was fired (let alone purchased, received, practiced with, stored, transported) by Lee is not provable. No trial was held. The fruit of the poisoned tree would have swept all the carnie props off the evidence list.
For Phillips to say we were training Oswald to kill Castro, I don't know why he killed Kennedy is not credible. He was in Dallas that day. He was with Lee in Dallas that summer, per Veciana to Fonzi in Last Investigation.
But those are not central to your stunning historic parallel.
For in Germany and in the U.S. the military intelligence power moved to remove the head of state by executive action.
Terminate with extreme prejudice.
The hatred of the eevil Nazis is a tired cliche. The suggestion their last act of survival was a looking glass to our own sword and shield would bring a chorus of boos from the winged monkeys defending them.
When you remove the impossible (lone gunman, magic bullet, no motive) what remains contains the truth.
