When Richard Gage dropped by Melbourne a couple of years ago to give his multimedia lecture on the collapses, I had a chance to talk with the organiser, local activist John Bursill (a 9/11 Blogger regular). I mentioned that I'd given probably 2000+ DVD's out locally in Melbourne via a friend who worked at an (unnamed, sorry ASIO) store where the discs were left in the front doorway with slick covers (made by me) replete with blurbs, and covering just the highest quality documentaries. Bursill shook my hand and noted that he'd given an equal number out himself, and some of his fellow Sydney activists had given out just as many. I'd like to think it was only a matter of time before someone at one of the papers decided to slip a little bit of truth out, and the fact that the documentary was made externally to the SMH gave them a degree of distance and deniability about associating themselves with the story, rather than drawing the ire of debunkers with an editorial.
Either that or the man with the mask slipped into their building one night, and departed just before the slowly approaching sound of jangling keys and a torchlight made it up the stairs.
