But, before Miranda and Escobedo, what the cops with Oswald would be SOP.
They did not advise him of his right to remain silent, and they did not say they would furnish him an attorney. When he asked for respite, they overrode it.
Under Miranda and Escobedo, they could not have done those things.
But the idea that they would not make any stenographic record, or recording, that is just incredible. Which is why I think the Ferrell story is correct.
