I've never bought the Fed Reserve angle.

C. Douglas Dillon, JFK's Treasury Sec., wouldn't rock boats that big. Or let them be rocked.

Dillon's buddy Ave Harriman wouldn't let the foreign policy boats get rocked either, but that's another story.
