Molina belonged to a veterans' group called the American G.I. Forum, which "the Dallas police considered possibly subversive." The group had been infiltrated by some Communists, according to Hosty in Assignment Oswald.
The Los Angeles Times reported 11/24/1963: "Dallas police earlier in the day questioned Joe Rodriguez Molina, a man of Mexican descent who is known to local police as an advocate of left-wing causes and also is an employee in the building from which the fatal shots were fired. But police reported that there was no evidence to link Molina to the crime."
