Woolsey (former CIA director) was active in making Iraq part of our country's response to 9/11. Looks like Iran is still on the government's list of targets.
By the way, CNN had an Iran special on the other night about the hostage crisis in the late 70's. Curious timing on that reminder. The show included interviews from people that were actually there (which made it interesting) but neglected to remind the viewer that a) the USA was responsible for the coup that put the Shah into power and b) the Republican negotiations with the hostage-keepers delayed their release till after the 1979 election.
Also worth remembering the designer failed rescue attempt - Operation Eagle's Claw - of the hostages by US military forces. Had this operation been successful, then Carter probably would've be re-elected - therefore it had to fail...
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.
