I did not make it to Woodstock but reading Peter's account reminded me of the Democratic convention in Miami in 72. People were passing j's everywhere and cops were just ignoring it, as were secret service...the Republican media had frightened the older folks, saying that we were going to put LSD in the water, which was pure nonsense. They brought us food and we hung out in Flamingo park, old and young in peace and harmony. I had a pass for the convention so that is where I spent my nights. What a great four days. Hunter Thompson did a terrific job of writing it up in hs Fear and Loathing account.
