Charles is correct to ask the question of if all of these actually happened - although some certainly did - and what was going on at the time and who might have benefited by any MIHOP scenarios. I've studied bomb design and they are fairly (sic) safe to not go nuclear without someone removing all failsafe proceedures, but they can certainly crash and either explode [non-nuclear explosives in them] or just open-up and distrubute their nuclear materials near or far. The half-lives of the nuclear materials is in the tens of thousands of years for most of it....less for some. Nice. I guess they don't call in the EPA and make it a superfund site. I'll bet that list is not complete. There was the one lost off the coast of Spain, and a few others I've heard rumors about. Maybe one will turn-up on ebay. 'slightly used and dented Nuke with original USAF lettering'. Really makes one feel safe and secure, knowing the military and government have everything under control! :bandit:
