That knee operation plus the fact he was surrounded by armed FBI officers, and he was NOT armed, has always made an execution seem the most likely fact. Sadly, today in the USA just about the MOST dangerous thing one can do is to let a policeman or FBI or similar into one's house or flat - or to be in a room alone with them. However, they have the 'right' to just force their way in and deny witnesses or a lawyer to be present. It also seems they suffer no consequences for executions, which they always turn around as an 'attack' or 'resisting arrest' etc. Would make the Gestapo proud. :
