Peter, <sigh>
I agree with the stuff you have quoted, and until last week this would have been my position, but I have to say, you obviously have not really read what I have written.
I will make it a little clearer.
There is a seller on ebay, from Singapore, who sells AUTHENTIC notes with Kennedy on one side and a space shuttle on the other, and the words “commemorative one billion” written on it.
You can see for yourself, and actually you can buy them, at least one, I just bought the other available piece for $24,99 plus shipping and handling.
One thing to immediately notice: This is not money or equivalent, nor does it claim to be. It is colourful paper, commemorating the moon flight and the Kennedy Space Center. I’m not sure if it originates from the Kennedy Space Center or from some printing press in Singapore, it does not actually matter.
One thing matters very much: It looks EXACTLY like the very bad photos on the original press release from 4th June. Some phote experts here to verify that?
And now I ask anybody with half a brain: How long did it take you to realize, when looking at the ebay picture http://i10.ebayimg.com/02/i/001/2d/7b/42bf_1.JPG that this is not money, fake or otherwise?
How long did it take you to realize that there is no currency printed on the paper?
How long did it take you to realize that people at the Guardia di Finanza di Como are either braindead or complicit in a setup. I don’t think for a second that only crooks work there. But it must be really embarassing.
And, Mr. Meyerhardt, if you can hear me, I have to disagree with your verdict. Based on pictures that I can see on the internet, at least the 10 “Kennedy Bonds” worth “One Billion whatever” are definitely authentic.
Smile:ciao:
