There is an ad on TV stations showing the United States ranking 25th in the world in proficiency in Science and Mathematics. It probably took only about two generations to dip this low because I can recall when we were near the top. The dumbing down in education has worked! In his farewell address, Robert Hutchins, Chancellor of the University of Chicago, had viorously warned this was happening in all areas and disciplines unless educators changed their ways. His address was published as a book, THE UNIVERSITY OF UTOPIA.
