Jack & Sue White
#1
It troubles me to inform you that Sue White, the widow of our dear friend, Jack White, passed away on the 18th. I have very fond memories of her. She and Jack were our gracious hosts and tour guides when my wife and I visited them exactly 2 years ago today

I am very grateful for having known them. RIP

Visitation: 9 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Woman's Club of Fort Worth or Fort Worth Public Library. Sue was born on Dec. 12, 1933, in Clarksville. She worked for Interstate Theaters for 35 years as an adminstrative assistant. She was a partner in VJS Co's, an advertising graphics firm. I knew Jack, but not Sue.

God rest their brave and beautiful souls, together.

Very sad! And how sad and true that close couples/partners often don't long survive after the death of their mate.....more of a broken heart and spirit, than things physical - though I don't pretend to know the details here. I know that Jack took great strength from Sue; and while she was not the researcher, he ran everything past her on what he was doing, and she was a great pillar of support for him. Both missed!

While visiting Fort Worth, Jack brought us to see the football stadium at his Alma Mater, TCU, which is the same college that was attended
by LaDanian Tomlinson, formerly of the San Diego Chargers. Jack was a big fan of LT and always said that the reason LT failed to receive
the Heisman Trophy, which the record reflects he had earned, was political.

In this picture we are at the stadium on one of the days it was being demolished. Jack wanted to take some photos of it for posterity as well
as to add to his remarkable Fort Worth History website.

My wife, Julie, took this picture of us after having asked Jack if he thought the "special settings" (whatever they were that she was trying to
use) would be OK. Just before she snapped the shot Jack said, "I hope you just left it on automatic because they're (Canon) real good at that
sort of thing these days." -- And, as it turned out, she did have it on automatic! -- But, note the expression on his face when he said it at that
moment when he knew it was too late to change! A perfect example of Jack White's classy, subtle, and always gentle sense of humor.

And then there was the time that I attended my first Lancer Conference. Jack introduced me by saying: "I'd like you to meet Gerald Posner's
brother" to several of his friends, George Michael Evica, Peter Dale Scott, and Jim Marrs. He didn't fool them, but he did embarrass me--and it
was great fun.
