BREAKING NEWS:Turkey street riots
#41
David Guyatt Wrote:Erdogan says riots "harm our economy and image".

Oh no! We can't have Turkey's image ruined, so let's just send in the riot police with tear gas and water-cannon and fifth columnists so the world can film it.

Ah, that's better.

The image of brutality is now restored. Only the economy to go.
Someone needs to break it to Erdogan that Turkey's image is already worse than mud. Their collaboration with Israel in the oppression of the Palestinians. Their brutal and murderous oppression of the Kurds. Their genocide against the Armenians and denial of same. Their gladio cells protected and used by the government. Their drug networks. Their collaboration and lackey doormatism for the worst excesses of US and NATO policy. The involvement in human organ trafficking. Their corruption and dictatorial tendencies in government and the brutal oppression of the people who resisit it. Their fascistic responses to a free people a free media and the protection of human rights. Their abandonment of a secular society. Their killing of trees and public space for personal profit. Their support of the FSA terrorists.

And that is just for starters.

Ergodan blatantly assults his citizens with chemical weapons and the US is silent yet any excuse to link Assad to any excess against the terrorists trying to invade his country the US demands no fly zones.

Love it!

The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.

And if the Revolution is televised the broadcasters will be fined for doing so. Only cooking shows permitted. Why don't they fine all the police for all their destruction of property and violence towards people?

ISTANBUL - Hürriyet

The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÃœK) has fined a number of channels, including Halk TV, for "harming the physical, moral and mental development of children and young people" by broadcasting coverage of the Gezi Park protests.

Ulusal TV, Cem TV and EM TV were also among the fined networks.

Halk TV, in particular, has gained unexpected popularity over its 24-hour live streaming of events around Istanbul, at a time when many mainstream media outlets gave little coverage to the ongoing protests.

The channel had been previously warned by RTÃœK about a video clip the regulator deemed to be humiliating to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan. Although it does not have an organic link with the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), the station is known to have been financially supported by the CHP during the leadership of Deniz Baykal.

After being elected the new leader in May 2010, current CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlureportedly cut financial support to the channel, which is known for its antigovernment broadcasts.

Magda, Have you something against cooking shows?! Wink

One has to go back a LOOOOOOOONG time to find a non-toxic Turkish government. But, they serve as the main Muslim proxies [along with Saudi Arabia] in helping the 'West' do what it wants with the World. It has also oppressed the Turkish People [even more so, some minorities within - from Armenians to Kurds, and others....]. Calling Sybil Edwards [would just love to hear what she has to say on all this....]

(my bolding) I've heard some real bollocks in my time but this tops the lot. Absolutely.

Where do these people get their spin and nonsense from? Is there a new global spin chain - Bullshit-Is-Us on the outlet park?
