We are being watched... Good show

Let's not let any of this go to our heads ... or our spines.

The watching game is more complex than simple surveillance. This is about feint, misdirection, counting guns, playfulness, contempt, training (theirs, so let's make it ours), talent spotting, and the nurturing of paranoia and ego.

For starters.

The Unspeakable outnumber us, out-gun us, and can wreak havoc on our material supply lines. They can buy-off many of us, and they can make others simply disappear.

But the arc of the universe bends away from them.

They can win battles, but the war for them already is lost.

I might add that being told by the Unspeakable that we're being observed is just another element of the game. The surveillance is sophisticated; if we weren't supposed to notice it, we wouldn't.

So remember the words of Graham Greene: "[Y]ou can’t blame the innocent, they are always guiltless. All you can do is control them or eliminate them. Innocence is a kind of insanity"

Under the right circumstances, being violated -- and knowing it -- can end up saving your sanity.

Not to mention your life.

A few years ago an FBI agent was telling a Senator about their activities in reference to monitoring a rally in a public park:

"... Sir; there were over six hundred people at that rally and five hundred and ten were from the FBI and two hundred from the CIA. One person was arrested and two others detained for questioning".. I do not recall their names"...

That's right Tosh, my friend and I were questioned at that rally. Confusedecruity:

I'd like for this thread not to scare away new folks and those who have not gotten used to such things. To my knowledge the NSA slurps up everything - websites of all kinds; emails, phone calls of all varieties; your bank info and anytime you use a teller-machine; every time you use a credit or debit card; and more - so relax. The days of the guy in the next room with the headphones on listening is over. Giant computers record all and IF they want they can go back and look. Yes, some things they are focused-on in almost real-time, but with the quantity of things on the internet etc. that might be less-than-flattering to the powers-that-be are so numerous, and they have more important targets, so I think most conversations on the internet are just recorded. So keep the paranoia at a realistic level, and don't let them stop your exercising your Constitution and Human Rights of Free Thought and Free Speech.

Use it or loose it.

"Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience! People are obedient in the face of poverty, starvation, stupidity, war, and cruelty. Our problem is that grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem!" - Howard Zinn

Really. They are watching now? Well hell, can they explain this little pickle then:

The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.
