"Now let's see who they push the assassination blame to now! It's a discussion on the CIA, NSA, etc. Woodward just exonerated Castro! Woodward just said, "SECRET GOVERNMENT".
Bob Schieffer, Face The Nation, just called the Warren Commission "COMPLETELY DYSFUNCTIONAL"

Holly fracktyls!!! That IS big news IMO, even though I would not trust these gents to report a boxscore much less a jarred brain. The reason it's big news is because it needs to be pointed out just how much EVEN THE DEFENDERS OF THE LONE NUT GOV VIEW have changed their cacophony I mean tune since Posner times.
Then we need to pose the question "WHY? If they were that wrong then......??..." These changes in the official narrative must have their stumbles amplified. They own the deck so the marks on each card need pointing out before wider audiences.

This brief Orlando Sentinel article posted a few minutes ago. Not too hard to contain some enthusiasm here, but at least this is more interesting than the normal mainstream pablum:
JFK assassination could have been prevented, author says By Hal BoedekerStaff writer11:48 a.m. EDT, October 27, 2013 The John F. Kennedy assassination could been prevented if the FBI and CIA had taken the threat of Lee Harvey Oswald seriously, says Philip Shenon, author of "A Cruel and Shocking Act." "There's tremendous amount of material, much of it has only been released in recent years, that shows that both the FBI and the CIA were very aware of the threat that Lee Harvey Oswald posed," Shenon said Sunday on CBS' "Face the Nation With Bob Schieffer." Former FBI Director Clarence Kelley was "perplexed" that no one had connected the dots before JFK's arrival in Dallas and prevented the assassination 50 years ago, Shenon said. Tom Johnson, press secretary for former President Lyndon Johnson, said in 1975 he discovered that Oswald had left a threatening note at the Dallas office of the FBI several days before the assassination -- and the note was later destroyed. Johnson was a Dallas newspaper publisher in 1975 and went to see FBI Director Kelley, who confirmed the information. [....] "If the commission had seen this document it would have raised a million questions," Shenon said. Shenon said one theme of his book is how much vital evidence disappeared about the assassination and Oswald. Chief Justice Earl Warren, who led the commission, was more interested in protecting Kennedy's legacy than in investigating the murder, Shenon said. [....] Peggy Noonan of The Wall Street Journal called Shenon's book "a heckuva story." She wondered if the country was lucky not to know at the time about the dysfunction in the government. Schieffer said it was clear that the CIA and FBI did not come clean with the Warren Commission. The young investigators for the Warren Commission had little experience and didn't know what they were up against in dealing with the FBI and CIA, Shenon said. Schieffer said that Shenon's book revealed that the Warren Commission was "one step away from being totally dysfunctional." Bob Woodward of The Washington Post saw a "rat's nest of concealment" in the secret world of the CIA and FBI, then and now. He, of course, knows all about secrecy from covering Watergate. [SUP]News bulletin...
US Government announces today sky REALLY is blue.... API - After 50 years of denying, the US Government formally announces the sky is blue and is sorry for any confusion denying said fact may have been to its citizens these past 50 years. "They said I was crazy and gave me shock therapy" says a top SKY-COLOR scientist/researcher, "it's good to know they can admit their mistake and regain their credibility once again". Next up, can the US citizens forgive and forget? Jeb Bush 2016 ;;okay::[/SUP]

I have to say there's really not much new here. Some in the mainstream media and academic world since the 1970s have been arguing that there was a benign cover-up by the FBI, CIA, etc to cover their asses, or to cover up the CIA-Mafia plots to kill Castro, or keep public opinion from demanding a war with Cuba.
If after 50 years all we can get the Establishment to do is admit some incompetence on the part of people who have been dead for decades, that isn't very much.

I disagree that there's nothing new here.
Sure Schieffer probably had caveats creviced with the caviar purchased with higher hush-money. What journalist with eyes and ears wouldn't have a fine print backdoor out of his bumper-stance protecting the Warren Commission? It IS new that he is coming out that openly and clearly. Of course it is limited hangout. But we don't have to ACCEPT HIS FRAMING OF THE HANGOUT. Our position on this, should be "Oh so for fifty years you conflated them all as bat shit crazy conspiracy theorists using labeling as clearly printed by the CIA as the Chiquita Banana labels are clearly printed by United Fruit... and NOW we should still maintain our faith and faith alone belief in the credibility of CBS news?" Is this Journalism or Calvinist ballistics? We need to attack big media. The Assassinations are the tactical nukes of this richly deserved attack because of their relationship to the creation of The Other Republicans. today's Democratic Party. The Corporate Media's job is to legitimate these fake elections. Scheiffer's comments are not fine print. We need to point out the hypocrisy. The assassinations have the capacity to completely delegitimate our billionaire's communication system that is mislabeled the free press. This switch in big media line re the WC needs to be pointed out across the political spectrum. That takes cutting and pasting not just phrasemaking for the silted cognoscenti. Silo or Shilo? Essay on!-- Can'n Nate, Corps of Engineers Museum, Rolla Missouri.

It's not that "it is written" EVERYTHING is written.
It's how many eyeballs EVEN GET A CHANCE TO SEE IT! A whole lot of books would be selling much better if more of us understood this. |
