I have recently joined this forum and please forgive me if this subject has been covered. There have been several allegations on the years that Jack Ruby was actively involved in both still and movie porn. 1) Lyle Sardie Video..Linda Grabow claimed as a teenager she was filmed in the Houston area in the presence of Jack Ruby and Jack Valenti. 2) Jim Gatewood in his latest book stated Ruby had a prostitution house, where he filmed porn and which included a film processor. 3) Madelaine Brown and her Doctor Companion had a large library of porn film from the 60's and claimed Ruby was active. I realize most of these sources are questionable but consider the following I attended SMU from 1958-1963. During that time, I met Candy Barr and knew her until her death. She asked me one time to locate the motel where "Smart Alex' was filmed. We narrowed it down to the Landmark but were unable to find room interior shots to verify. We discussed Ruby in that context and she said she was never asked to participate by him but was aware of him doing and selling porn. One of my classmates actively sold still nude photographs, which were sent to New Orleans for publication. His contact said Ruby was involved. In discussion with a Ruby Stripper's daughter she remembered as a five year old child going to a house with her mother where filming was happening. This question is important as it relates to the Babuskha film. If it were a trophy film made for the conspirators, then it would have to be developed some place. Would Jack Ruby have had the assets to do that? Of course this assumes the Beverly Oliver story is not accurate and that Jack Ruby was part of the conspiracy. I am seeking input and I do question if any of the above makes sense.

I think Candy Barr was 16 when she made that film, and the fact that one of the most famous hardcore films of that era was shot in Dallas shows that there was a thriving business going on there as early as 1950-51. Which means they had the processing equipment to develop films like that. After he was arrested, Ruby's car contained numerous photos of Jada. I don't know whether they were nude, but I've seen quite a few nudes of her on the internet. The circumstantial evidence that Ruby was involved in the porn business is pretty strong. As well as the drug business, gun-running, you name it. Which doesn't prove he was knowingly involved in the plot to kill JFK, but he was certainly an asset in the whole network of rackets stretching from LA/Vegas to Chicago/Dallas to New Orleans/Miami.

I can't answer this question specifically but we know that running strip clubs often goes hand in hand with other activities. Like porn and prostitution. We know that some of Ruby's girls "dated" cops on his suggestion. We know that he was involved in gun running. And drugs.
Curious what Lyle Sardie video are you referencing. (Sorry if I missed it, in a rush gotta get to work). I only know his horrible LBJ-did it video. I saw several copies of it, stuff repeated over and over. Terrible editing. It was like he was on bad drugs when he made it. He was also a total arse. Took advantage of Jay Harrison then tried to shake him down for money. I wrote him a cease and desist "legal" letter and he finally left Jay alone.

I was unaware of the financial dispute with Sardi but I knew of the Stephen Peugues papers, which Sardi obtained from Peugues's mother. I know that created a lot of fiction between Sardi and Jay.
My involvement with Sardi was more on the MLk side. I was part of the confrontation with Gerald Posner in Memphis. Sardi and I confronted Posner with Jerry Ray on the release of Killing the Dream at a bookstore. Sardi videotaped the entire scene including when the security guards threatened to arrest us. In Memphis, Sardi showed me the interview with Grabow and asked me to check into Grabow's story. This is what lead me to the discussions with Madelaine and Candy about Ruby's Porn. I subsequently did find pictures of Grabow in a girly magazine and she was underage. I do not know if the interview was included in Sardi's LBJ video but assumed that it was.

I have first hand knowledge of Ruby and gunrunning. It will be detailed in our new book. I know one of his partners in the operation and know how the shipments were made

Hmmm. I don't recall the problem being over Pegues. Jay had all that stuff. Too bad not a single soul is doing anything with it. Perhaps you have to live in TX. to be sufficiently concerned regarding the TX. angle. Billie Sol told me years ago that Pegues' story was going to be made into a film. I know Jay went to his grave feeling that this was a most important story and considered the untimely death of Pegues not to be an accidental "heart attack". Timing is everything when a person suddenly kicks off.
