Esoteric origins of Chess - and the Knights Tour
#1
A very interesting essay on the esoteric origins of the game of Chess can be found on the linked Freemason's website HERE. The website has a script that does not allow for copying and pasting. There is a lot there that is worth taking the time to read imo.

Then there is the Knights Tour, a mathematical problem/puzzle where the knight moves across the chessboard landing on each square only once.
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.

Yes there is David, great piece. I'll be keeping the whole site close at hand for future perusal.
