Kamala Harris: A Study in Showboating
#31

Huffpost followed up today.

But still no RFK! That is a really important part of this.

I agree with all the criticisms and short comings of Harris I've seen mentioned here on this thread. I just wanted to note that several progressive websites are reporting that Russian bots are behind pushing the Gabbard take down of Harris - whatever its merits. So, be careful. We are likely all now being manipulated by both US and Russian [and other nations] propaganda vis-a-vis our domestic and international politics. Harris has a flawed record in CA on a lot of things, already mentioned - anyone's bots pushing against her don't take away these valid criticisms - don't get me wrong. Gabbard to me doesn't seem like a dream candidate for other reasons, but maybe is better than Harris. Either of them would be better than Trump - but I think neither will likely be the Democratic candidate. The secret power behind the Dems want someone like Biden and the progressives want Sanders or Warren. I'd prefer one of them, myself - but doubt the Democratic party bosses and their elite control group would allow them. Our political 'debate' have become chaotic, and infiltrated by invisible forces - some internal, some external....each with their own agenda. Also lots of bizarre pushing of debate on social media NOT by human users. American political structures have been coming apart since WWII, accelerated with the state-sponsored coup of JFK, RFK, MLK etc., wars against people who meant us no harm and didn't threaten us, covert ops and assassinations in foreign countries up the yazoo. Now, it all comes home to roost in a BIG way. I see this as the slow [or not so slow] death of the USA as an entity. It will be ugly as all the right-wing nuts have lots of guns and will use them in a new Civil War. At some point martial law will be declared and then its all over [democracy and any hope for the U.S.]. Sorry to be so pessimistic. I'll fight for it not to be so, have all my life, but see we are moving back, not forward...... Yes, getting rid of Trump would be a big victory, but he is really a symptom of the 'rot' and NOT THE problem in and of it[him]self. With anthropogenic climate catastrophe just about 25 years away, many governments going toward the hard right and authoritarianism, human overpopulation and pollution, Planet Gaia and its worst species [humans] are headed into dark territory. I fell sorry for those with children. I feel sorry for the other species. I feel sorry for those who always saw the problem and fought the good fight and still do. The next two decades are make or break for the human species.
