Speaking of deleted scenes, I love the one in JFK where the Denver oilman visits Garrison and tries to bribe him with a federal court appointment in exchange for dropping his case. Very powerful; should have been left in. "Well, they've just offered you the carrot. You know what comes next!"

If you read Talbot's interview in Mother Jones, his book is being read in Hollywood.
He suggested William Hurt. I have never particularly liked Hurt, for the simple reason that I do not hunk he is a very skilled, imaginative, or inventive actor. He looks the part, but that is about it.
