The hospital was actually hit by an AC-130 'Spooky' gunship, 105mm howitzer, which is kinda interesting, in that they have a broad array of navigation, comms, sensors & targetting equipments, and the US forces knew it was a hospital, it just wasn't mapped-data-uplink-net'ed, but surely they hit what they were aiming at. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kunduz_hospital_airstrike And that's what you get when you rely on hi-tech; I gather water buffalo & buckets of piss defeated Igloo White on the Ho Chi Minh trail; "This state-of-the-art operation utilized electronic sensors, computers, and communications relay aircraft in an attempt to automate intelligence collection.
