More on that sweet, darling Quaker lady, who Richard Russell called too good to be true.

I've got news for you , she was.

Do seriously have to wonder at that woman.
"The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways. The point, however, is to change it." Karl Marx

"He would, wouldn't he?" Mandy Rice-Davies. When asked in court whether she knew that Lord Astor had denied having sex with her.

“I think it would be a good idea” Ghandi, when asked about Western Civilisation.

She worked for CIA didn't she? Or another alphabet agency.

Yes, her sister did work for the CIA.

And Ruth adroitly said she did not know what government agency she worked for to Garrison's grand jury.

In "Walker," Jeffrey Caulfield claims that segregationists were responsible for JFK's murder, and that some of Oswald's activities prior to the assassination were designed to discredit the integration/civil rights movement (by association with a card carrying Commie). It is interesting that Ruth Paine attended MLK's civil rights walk in 8/63, and made a contribution to CORE (the very same civil rights organization sponsoring the voter registration in Clinton that Oswald attended), and concerned herself with the victims of the KKK/Baptist Church bombing in 1963. At least three of the four klansmen that are associated with that act are mentioned in Caulfield's book. ( I haven't yet finished the book, its very long and hard to slog through.) Her act of looking for a black family that had the courage to live in her white neighborhood in the 1960s might be something similar.

If Ruth Paine is identifying persons associated with "dangerously liberal" ideas, at home or abroad, by virtue of her charitable works (either officially or un-officially) that offers an interesting perspective on her involvement with the Oswalds.
"All that is necessary for tyranny to succeed is for good men to do nothing." (unknown)

James Tracy: "There is sometimes an undue amount of paranoia among some conspiracy researchers that can contribute to flawed observations and analysis."

Gary Cornwell (Dept. Chief Counsel HSCA): "A fact merely marks the point at which we have agreed to let investigation cease."

Alan Ford: "Just because you believe it, that doesn't make it so."

I only know one way. I search out whatever I can online and I follow the leads resulting from my searches where ever they take me. I am often criticized because I often cannot wrap up my research and tie it with a neat little bow. If I see a smoking gun, I am on it. To be sure, more research is needed related to Ruth Paine's Nicaragua period. However, considering what I've learned and what I am sharing, I am inclined to hand it off to a reader of this post. I am motivated more than usual as I would love to assist Jim in putting down the CIA Fanboy. On the surface, the common theme is a WASP rebellion against the privilege and opportunity filling the silver spoons lodged in their mouths, at birth. They embrace and use the wealth to finance an unconventional path compared to what their elders expect of them, but apparently did not demand of them. They were not disinherited as a consequence of their unconventional choices. BTW.... this entire post was the result of reading this, twelve hours ago.......: (Everyone lives in Sonoma County, happily ever after.)

Quote: http://www.stanforddaily.com/2012/10/25/...way-at-67/ Jonathan Roise, former editor in chief, passes away at 67 - October 25, 2012 He was 67. Roise, who enrolled at Stanford in 1963, led The Daily during the Vietnam War, a time of anti-war and anti-draft protests, teach-ins, marches, sit-ins and strikes. An ardent opponent of the war, Roise took a strong editorial stance in support of protests and sit-ins, the rights of individual students, free speech and student liberties. Michael Couzens '68, Roise's former roommate and colleague at The Daily, reminisced about their regular "discussions about the anti-war movement, religion and sit-ins." At Stanford, Roise was a part of Project South, a radio-documentary group that presented on KZSU. He also worked closely with a group of professors who merged religious studies with matters of social conscience, such as Michael Novak and Davie Napier, dean at the chapel. He volunteered for the United Farm Workers and left Stanford to pursue work in Seattle with Environmental Works, a nonprofit community development organization. In 1990, Roise moved to Managua, the capital of Nicaragua, to work as the director of the Quaker Center. He co-founded Sí a la Vida, an organization that aimed to provide street children with mentorship and structured lifestyles to transition them to autonomous adulthood. The organization went on to open two centers in Nicaragua. Couzens remembered how he and Roise lived in a "broken-down boarding house" off campus during their Stanford years. "We would have a conference on Sunday and declare things that we needed to do, like stop smoking or do the laundry or catch up on doing homework," Couzens recalled. "There were many new-leaf weeks." Roise did not go on to graduate from Stanford. "I always felt like of all the people I'd known at Stanford who later become eminent one way or another…he was a credit to the university as much as anybody," Couzens said. Roise is survived by his son, Joshua, and two siblings. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 27 at Eagle Harbor Church, 105 Winslow Way West, Bainbridge Island, Wash. (Now compare the accounting of Roise's life and his choices with the accounting of the life of Sukey Forbes's grandfather. Sukey is the much younger first cousin of Michael Paine, and we will get to them later in this post. Sukey's mother is Natalie Saltonstall, daughter of Robert Saltonstall, the subject of the obituary.) http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/obitua...?page=full By Bryan Marquard Globe Staff / March 28, 2008 Robert Saltonstall may have felt his life was too strictly mapped out: Milton Academy, Phillips Exeter Academy, Harvard, and the world of business. So with his wife's encouragement, he steered a different course. "There was a real adventuresome streak in both parents," said their son James of Carlisle. "And I think in many ways my mother may have gotten the cattle prod out from time to time and said, 'Don't go to Harvard Business School, go to Stanford. . . . We have the opportunity to live in Italy for two years - let's do it.' " Heeding his wife's counsel, Mr. Saltonstall stepped away from his career track at 45 to teach abroad. By career's end he was dispensing grants to nonprofit organizations back in Boston, and in retirement lent his expertise to an environmental organization......... .......Born in 1910, Mr. Saltonstall was a distant cousin of Leverett A. Saltonstall, a former Massachusetts governor and US senator. He grew up in a part of Hyde Park at a time when his family name, distinctive looks, and Harvard accomplishments drew notice from newspapers. "Robert Saltonstall Jr., of Readville, the platinum blond of Harvard hockey, was yesterday elected to lead the Crimson ice forces in their 1932-'33 campaign," the Boston Post reported in March 1932. At 6-feet-2 and 185 pounds, he was hard to miss on the ice or on the Charles River, where he rowed crew. "He always had blond hair, cut quite short, pink cheeks," his son said. "And in the summertime back then, nobody knew much about suntan oil, so he was always sunburned. He loved to sail, which only made the sunburn worse. And he had very big hands, which would be rather typical of oarsmen at the time." Elected first marshal of his Harvard class, Mr. Saltonstall graduated in 1933 and married Hannah G. Ayer the following year. At first he worked at the National Shawmut Bank in Boston and then moved with his wife across the country, receiving a master's from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Mr. Saltonstall was assistant agent for personnel and labor relations at Arlington Mills in Lawrence before and after his service in the US Navy during World War II, when he was stationed in Boston and in Washington, D.C. In 1949, he joined the faculty of Harvard Business School and became an assistant dean before he and his wife decided it was time to step away from his Harvard roots. Then, Mr. Saltonstall taught at a graduate school in Turin, Italy, helped start a business school in Lausanne, Switzerland, and wrote "Human Relations in Administration, Text and Cases." Returning to the United States after four years abroad, he became director of personnel at Boston Safe Deposit and Trust in 1960. Five years later, he became a vice president, coordinating the company's grants to charitable trusts, foundations, and nonprofits. "I think that was an area where he took significant pride in what he was doing," his son said. "He was in touch with all of the innovative things going on in the city of Boston and brought a real kind of professionalism to that area of business that I think had been lacking." Retiring a decade later in 1975, Mr. Saltonstall became a volunteer consultant to the Massachusetts Audubon Society, work in which his affinities for business and the outdoors meshed. He and his wife moved to Wayland to be closer to the organization's offices in Lincoln. In retirement, they were freer to travel, visiting remote places such as Afghanistan, Iran, and Nepal. On each trip, Mr. Saltonstall captured his impressions of faraway places with brushes and paints. "For some people, it might be keeping a diary; for others it might be photography," his son said. "In my dad's case, it was trying to represent on a piece of paper what they were seeing. It also meant that my dad looked carefully at what was around him, because in order to paint he had to notice things." Mr. Saltonstall and his wife preferred to notice details in the countryside, rather than along the streets of foreign cities. "They much preferred to visit the country, as opposed to the city, and so these painting trips played right into that," their son said. "It's not that they didn't visit a museum or a cathedral or two, but both of them liked to be outdoors; both of them liked to walk. I think the painting provided a focus for those trips and in some ways an excuse: We haven't been there before, let's go check it out." In addition to his son James, Mr. Saltonstall leaves another son, Robert of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; two daughters, Suzannah Schroeder of Belvidere Center, Vt., and Natalie Forbes of Concord; nine granddaughters; six grandsons; 15 great-granddaughters; and seven great-grandsons.

We are a collective of thirty-five adults and a dozen children spanning three generations, who live, learn, work, and celebrate life together on 300 plus acres of farm and wilderness in West Sonoma County. We share five residences among us, which are part of the historic Giovannini homestead ranch. We count among us ecologists, farmers, homesteaders, permaculturalists, entrepreneurs, innovators, educators, healers, crafters, eco-builders, child-rearers, musicians, artists, and re-thinkers. We are part of the larger movement of "Cultural Creatives" that value peace, social and ecological well-being, justice, sharing, and expansion into new ways of being. Who we're wanting to join us... (Both as residential members and non-residential members) We appreciate that every prospective member has a distinctive range of talents and personality traits that can benefit the wider community in unique ways. Generally, we look for flexible team-players, good communicators, and people committed to honest transparency. More particularly we're interested in financial partners and people with time, energy, and skills to offer to the endeavor. We hope to attract ecologically and socially-conscious entrepreneurs so that we can host more on-site businesses. We also value those who can help in the building /carpentry trades. We can always use more permaculture & farmer folk, those with knowledge of forestry and tree care, those with knowledge of herbal medicine and alternative healing modalities, people practiced in animal husbandry and the business of edible mushroom cultivation. We also are interested in green technology engineers and need help from people with web design experience and legal expertise. Where we're located... 13024 Green Valley Road is in the rural, unincorporated part of Sebastopol, California, closest to the small towns of Graton & Occidental, and also situated near the towns of Sebastopol, Forestville & Guerneville in West Sonoma County. Not far from the Northern California coastal area of Bodega Bay & Jenner. We are four miles down a rural road from the intersection with state Highway 116. Santa Rosa, the largest city in Sonoma County, is less than a thirty minutes' drive away. We inhabit an edge-ecosystem, where a mixed forest of Redwood, Fir, Oak, Bay and Madrone meets acres of open valley bottomland. The 158-acre forested parcel we call WildNest is the top edge of the watershed for Green Valley Creek, a year-round flowing stream (and important salmon habitat) that travels through our property en route to the Russian River. Based on archeological evidence, we're situated where Pomo people once lived. At the turn of the last century, the Giovannini family procured the property and prospered in the businesses of cattle grazing, dairy ranching, and lumbering wood. Good times to Visit… We request that visitors make an appointment & receive an invitation before showing up to our Village. Our community is a place of interest, but also a place where people reside on a daily basis. We are not currently set up to receive people who just drop-in. Please, contact us in advance and make an appointment with one of our designated coordinators. ............. When we formed... "Land Scout" Chris Paine had already been looking for land suitable for intentional community for years by the time he met his future wife Kai Harris in 2002. Together they searched from a home-base in Sebastopol for nearly two years with their housemate Raphael Wolf before they discovered Green Valley Ranch in spring of 2004. Chris and Kai rented an available cottage on the property and encouraged Raphael to find others to share the rental of the large Victorian house that was unoccupied at the time. Former member Lindsay Hassett (aka Betty Biodiesel) responded to this initial call to create land-based community. In the winter of 2004, Chris joined with his father Michael Paine to purchase outright the "WildNest" -- the 158-acres of undeveloped forested land adjacent to the compound ranch. As additional houses became vacant on the property over the year 2005, more members joined our Village. The community helped to host the marriage ceremony of Chris and Kai who adopted the new surname Panym , held on the Wildnest Forest in August of 2005. In the final days of the year 2005, after arduous negotiations, Michael Paine became the new owner of the 170-acre compound ranch with multiple dwelling units and old mill site, as well as an additional adjacent 23-acre parcel. Feeling more securely anchored, the years 2006-12 brought tremendous growth to the fledgling community. Rhythms became established for meetings, celebrations, cooking rotations, and work parties. Projects budded and community businesses were built. Also through these years, the need for some form of community ownership in the venture became apparent. In 2012, the community formed a community-owned LLC that will hold a long-term lease from the M.R.P. Trust which holds title to the property. Green Valley Village members are the Member-Owners of our continually developing Eco-Village!! This is an exciting evolution in our organizational relationship!! What we are creating... We Envision We envision a world in which every being's unique contribution weaves together a vibrant web of harmonious inter-relationship. We bring this larger vision home by walking the path of an embodied spirituality that is rooted deeply in loving relations, life-affirming economics, music & dance, on-going learning, and connection with nature. We join others regionally and globally in sending out ripples of positive influence, encouraging the evolution of joyful and sustainable communities that promote prosperity and justice for the next seven generations and beyond. We are dedicated to modeling an intentional, integrated culture that fulfills the broad spectrum of our human needs in harmony with all Life. The Crown family and partner Conrad Hilton next benefitted from TFX, at the time, the most costly military contract award in the history of the world. Obama was sponsored by the Crowns and Pritzkers. So was Albert Jenner Peter Janney has preferred to write of an imaginary CIA assassination of his surrogate mother, Mary Meyer, but not a word about his Uncle Frank.
