Very curious where John Newman will be taking this series. I have the volume on my Kindle but since John has mentioned the second volume (tentatively) will be out in a few months or thereabouts, I'm thinking of reading the first and second volumes in paperback form back to back. Newman's OSWALD AND THE CIA afterword discussing Angleton is better than most entire books I've read on the case. I'm looking forward to seeing what his current thoughts are on whodunnit.

FWIW (and off the topic of Newman) some Christic Institute YouTube comments a couple of weeks ago note that Daniel Sheehan's mysterious volume on the assassination, RULERS OF THE REALM, is also due for publication in the next few months.

Or, more importantly, Newman's tracing how internal CIA witnesses spoke of Oswald's 201 file being delayed and worked around red flagging detection by Angleton's CI/SIG department. A sure sign of CIA handling of Oswald and the true definition of Oswald's existence and actions that propagandists like Von Pein avoid like the devil. No person credibly analyzing the case would ignore how this true depiction of Oswald would condition things like the Money Order and just about every single thing involved with Oswald. There can be no greater oversight of Oswald on a covert basis than Angleton's CIA interest. Therefore it defies reason to ignore how this would affect the Money Order or persons suggesting there was no outside influence on it. (How could the deepest CIA department be confirmed as handling Oswald and have no awareness of, and therefore involvement with, the Money Order?)


This would have been the antidote to the propaganda poison CNN fed us on the anniversary. Newman countering Bugliosi and showing how this true record invalidated most of what Bugliosi offered.

An excellent review, Mr. DiEugenio

Aptly titled and from the sounds of it, a book well worth reading. Sure sounds like Mr. Newman highlights the key players at the height of the Cold War chess match being played out in the corridors of both the Pentagon and E Street. The coveted poker chip amid this high stakes match up against the so-called red menace USSR was Cuba. Impacting the direction of Cuba, even if it meant dangling the life of a duly elected representative of the people into the equation, certainly someone most of these self-righteous powerbrokers didn't trust anyway, mattered more to these mad men than the Republic itself. Kudos to Mr. Newman for shining light on their sordid deeds.

Just like these mad men to throw caution to the wind, and say the h*ll with the truth/the lives of three men (Kennedy, Oswald and Tippitt) and their respective families, just let us fulfill our own lust for power, however it's gained, even if it means lying about it to the power source of all democratic governments, the people.

Bunch of lying treasonous cowards.

I think its more than ironic that so many of these names in Volume 1, will surface again in 1963.

I mean, coincidence? I kind of doubt it.

BTW, I probably should have made more of that comprehensive directory at the end with all the different names and crypts used by a whole variety of CIA employees and assets. I have never seen such a complete compilation anywhere.

Wow, you're retired? How many years did you teach? At 66 retirement is not even in my vocabulary. But teachers get some kind of pension right?

I have never even had a paid vacation. Let alone a pension. But I love my work, so I'd be unhappy retired. The courtroom is most of my social life.

Sad to report that one of my favorite attorneys died yesterday. Only 60 and a super sweet man. Legendary Christmas parties. Would bring flowers to every one in the DA's office at Thanksgiving and Christmas. A scholar and a gentleman. Every day is a blessing.
And THANK you for reading the books and doing reviews. It's a valuable service. Actually invaluable.

I taught for a bit over 30 years.

Today was actually the first day of my formal retirement, meaning if I was not retired, I would have been at work.

But I wasn't. And I am still getting paid.

There were only three things good about being a teacher: you get a lot of holidays off plus the summer, its a good health plan, and its a good pension plan.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have gotten a combination MBA/law degree.

With that I would have retired about 10-15 years ago.
