David Bowie and the occult

A couple of interesting pieces that I've come across over the last few days:

“The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of doubt, what is laid before him.”

Thanks R K, an other interesting look at the occult background to the music and film business and the influence Crowley has had.

The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.

Interesting curiosity: Bowie shares a birthday with Elvis, who also had a song called Black Star.

Fascinating...

Seeing a lot about Bowie and the occult on facebook. But if he sold his soul to the devil he sold short. Dying at 69 is hardly a "win".

I know it's not popular to say this but I was not very into him. Some songs were good, but...many left me cold.
