Mark Sleboda's application to Stratfor
#1
Anyone who has seen Mark Sleboda on RT will want to read his application for employment with Stratfor via Wikileaks. Note his membership in Chatham House.

Quote:To whom it may concern at Stratfor

I am an American citizen with six years of advanced military experience as a non-commissioned officer in the nuclear engineering field, two years of professional corporate experience in a technical capacity, and four years experience as a teacher of Business English in Russia. I have a BA (Hons) in International Relations and Political Science and will be graduating in December 2010 from a MSc in International Relations Theory with specialties in Russian and Eurasian Foreign, Security, and Domestic Policy, Security Studies, and the international relations of climate change at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
I believe that Stratfor is the ideal place for me to combine my experience serving in the US military and my postgraduate education in International Relations and Security Studies into a comprehensive whole that will also make me a unique asset to your institution.
My combination of academic excellence in my studies at Richmond the American International University in London and the London School of Economics and Political Science, prior military experience in the United States Navy, and life experience makes me ideally suited for this position. I am familiar with military institutions and equipment, have traveled extensively throughout the world, and have gained an understanding of the complex interrelations of political and hard power on the global stage during my coursework. My research has focused on Russian and Central Asian foreign and security policy, but also took a special interest in strategic studies, climate change, resource depletion, and Arctic issues. My undergraduate dissertation was a geopolitical analysis of the August War of 2008 and my postgraduate dissertation concerned Neo-Eurasianism in Russia. I wisely invested into becoming a member of Stratfor as a post-graduate student after reading your free weekly supplements and I now monitor your service on a daily basis. I have also utilized Stratfor’s analysis and in-depth special reports extensively in my postgraduate research and class work. This has given me a deep appreciation for the work that your institution does. I particularly appreciate your objective and geopolitically focused analysis. It would be an honor for me to have the chance to contribute to your team.
I firmly believe that all of this makes me a good fit for your institution in general and for the Research Internship position at Stratfor in particular. I am available and enthusiastic for full time work in this or another capacity from January 1st 2011 onward and hope to have the opportunity to join the Spring 2011 Research Internship team. I am willing and able to relocate to Austin, Texas or elsewhere for this position as needed.
Thank you kindly for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Mark Sleboda

A Deal Over Syria That Left The U.S. Out

August 31, 2016

http://www.moonofalabama.org/2016/08/a-d...s-out.html

Quote:All these talks were not just between Turkey and Syria (in Algeria) or between Moscow and Ankara. There was a wide framework discussed between all relevant forces - Syria, Iran, Iraq, Russia, Turkey and others and only the U.S. (it seems) was left out. I do not see this as a loss for Russia - not at all. The Syrian government was barely alive when Russia intervened just 10 month ago. It has now regained a lot of its land and capabilities. The U.S. and Israeli plans for a divided Syria have been warded. The strategic landscape has been changed. That's a lot of progress in a quite short time.

Interesting, if true, that it was the US who didn't have a seat at the table.

And more than interesting about Sleboda applying for Stratfor (and being with RIIA). Gotta laugh...
