Mike Pompeo is working to block release of CIA's JFK docs
#1
Trump states that he won't block the JFK docs release, subject to further information... Mike Pompeo is lobbying to block the upcoming release. What will Trump demand of Pompeo to keep the docs secret?

MSNBC's "expert" John Harwood, stated that if the release doesn't support conspiracy, people will believe those documents were destroyed to protect the conspirators, so nothing will come of it. Alex Witt cited the most recent poll that only 25% of the US population believes LHO acted alone. The "expert" stated "There you go, people will believe a conspiracy no matter what the facts are." He further stated that 'the only true facts are what was reported by the Warren Commission.'

The fact that after 54 years CIA is *STILL* hiding these documents sparks no curiosity in this "expert"...

There was one fair report on CBS. They had a neutral stance on it and wondered what was still remaining secret.

Amazing to me that not on so called expert on TV has mentioned any of the previously released files from July or what was in them.

Meanwhile I am over at Denny's every day with my Grand Slam breakfast and two piles of these things reading them over.

Hi There Jim,

That's a surprise - but for once a GOOD surprise. Every mention of it that I've encountered tosses in the "conspiracy nut" angle with an implied eye-roll, and a "there's nothing there" comment.

Knowing what even the general public knows about intelligence ops, from the movies for example, the absence of a 'signed confession' proves nothing. Hopefully, more info such as Mayor Cabell's CIA connection will come out. David Ferries' FBI interview would be "interesting." I wonder how many docs known to exist will be absent from a so-called full release...

EDIT: a Bill Kelly(?) list of known docs not listed for release:

Yeah I know. Its so ridiculous that they have these commentators on who clearly have not read anything.

I am just finishing up the July release now and I hope to be done with it by Thursday, so I am working overtime.

I have an interview live in Moscow tomorrow morning at 11: 30 my time via Skype. And then I have another in Ireland. So at least some people abroad will be getting a better picture.

The media in those other countries are more interested and more open-minded than ours. But you will
give a good impression of our research community.

Without having done a poll [and not being able to find any online just now - but they do exist], from personal experience living here in Europe, very few adults and fewer younger people in Europe believe the official version of the events of Dallas - most believe there was a conspiracy. While most Americans do, as well, the number of Europeans who believe this is greater. They are also more generally steeped in history and politics without the propaganda noise so prevalent in the USA.

****

I am told that is true. People who lived through that time in Europe often tell
me that when Ruby shot Oswald, it was obvious to them, if it
had not been before, that there was a conspiracy involved. And as you
say, they are used to the reality of conspiracies and coups, etc., and
are not under thrall to the American exceptionalism that warps the
thinking of our media and many of our fellow citizens. But it is a tribute
to the American public that 60-75% have consistently maintained
belief in a conspiracy ever since 11/22/63, with some dips and rises in the numbers.
That disbelief preceded Johnson's "credibility gap" over Vietnam, and I believe
was the start of the widespread lack of respect for the mainstream media.

That is great Jim. Will it be shown on RT?

Although the media continues to report that the records will be released "today", according to MSNBC, the "memo" from CIA to block the release of documents hasn't been received by the WH as of the moment. I find it impossible to believe CIA didn't send a formal objection to Trump. Is it in the box on Trump's desk with the Russia sanctions that he refuses to impose? As an aside, why is Congress (publicly) silent regarding this blatant refusal?
