How should the DPF commemorate our one-year anniversary?
#1
On 9/13/2008 this domain went live so we are approaching our one year anniversary. How should we observe it? Suggestions?

Hello everybody,

as a newcomer and greenhorn it is not my position to make proposals, but I just had the idea, that everybody who likes to, can give one birthday present to the forum, maybe in a special thread, in the form of a fundamental truth, that he or she is deeply convicted of. Just as a statement, without reasoning, but with the knowledge that the respective person stands behind it.
If there are conflicting truths, so be it.

I suggest that Colby, Burton, and Lamson be hung by their thumbs
from the top of the new WTC Building 7 and forced to view ground zero
all day to commemorate the anniversary. Those were the founders of
this forum.

And thanks for your suggestion also Carsten.

"He would, wouldn't he?" Mandy Rice-Davies. When asked in court whether she knew that Lord Astor had denied having sex with her.

“I think it would be a good idea” Ghandi, when asked about Western Civilisation.

1) A small party... can do we do one as a digital community? .. with some delicious dessert featuring a single candle, a toasting liquid of choice, and perhaps a special thread on that day.

2) Some concerted effort on that day to let the rest of the world know of our existence as a resource or research tool... by the insertion of links into places...

3) Redoubled energies and brain-storming, or discussion about collaboration and focus, the future of the forum, etc.

I propose Project Colourcode.

Project Colourcode is based on the general ideas that

1. Everyone worldwide should be aware of the threat advisory level, published by the Department of Homeland Security here.

2. One easy way to achieve that is that everyone participating in Project Colourcode should display the current threat level as a coloured sticker somewhere on his clothing. By doing that he or she indicates participation in Project Colourcode and makes others aware of the Project and the threat level.

3. The short term goal of Project Colourcode is to increase awareness for the threat advisory level, correlated to external threat. The long term goals are that with awareness, each individual can take meaningful, peaceful action in his or her immediate neighborhood to reduce the threat level and thereby bring the threat advisory level back to blue or green.

4. There are research possibilities into predicting the first day in history when the threat advisory level goes to green and what happens after that, or when Barrack Obama will publicly announce his participation in Project Colourcode, or what will be the threat level on the day of the first anniversary of this forum.

5. An interesting question is also, which countries of the world will forbid participation in Project Colourcode, and for which reason. This gives us a chance to see the Octopus at work. For reference on Octopus see here.

Please, spread the word, write articles, wiki entries, tweets or whatever, and wear your sticker. I will be on vacation from tomorrow, returning on September 13. I will wear a yellow sticker, until I see other colour stickers popping up. Love, Peace and Fun to all of you.

Let's be rich for a day.I want to know what it's like to be an "ELITE".We could have expensive booze, cocaine, and for sure an escort service. In fact, make the escort service a PRIORITY.Hey,I don't have to worry about no stinking "honey trap".I think Carsten will be quite rich very soon.Let's make him foot the bill.Carry on............

I like these suggestions, Ed. With the different time zones it would likely be hard to have us all here at the same time...but we can try. Our presence on Facebook is growing, we have about 72 fans. I will be sure to make a specific note on 9/13 on my page suggesting that people should look at DPF, and why. As well as post about us at other sites. I think that we will grow by word of mouth, and also however one gets a post or thread to show up via google. I have no clue how that is accomplished but that is how I found EF in 04, by googling someone and one of the first hits I got was John's bio of that person at EF. When posting at other sites about us I think it would be important to note that, unlike other forums, ours is lacking in the sort of bickering and attacks one encounters on similiar forums.

ps Love the little birthday link at the top of DPF, Maggie or Myra...Yes indeed, happy birthday to us. May we live long and prosper Smile
