6:50 AM ET -- (AP) The suspected shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, was on a ventilator and unconscious in a hospital after being shot four times during the shootings at the Army's sprawling Fort Hood, post officials said. In the early chaos after the shootings, authorities believed they had killed him, only to discover later that he had survived.
In Washington, a senior U.S. official said authorities at Fort Hood initially thought one of the victims who had been shot and killed was the shooter. The mistake resulted in a delay of several hours in identifying Hasan as the alleged assailant.
Authorities have not ruled out that Hasan was acting on behalf of some unidentified radical group, the official said. He would not say whether any evidence had come to light to support that theory.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss matters that were under investigation.
Officials are not ruling out the possibility that some of the casualties may have been victims of "friendly fire," that in the mayhem and confusion at the shooting scene some of the responding military officials may have shot some of the victims.
The gunfire broke out around 1:30 p.m. at the Soldier Readiness Center, where soldiers who are about to be deployed or who are returning undergo medical screening. Nearby, some soldiers were readying to head into a graduation ceremony for troops who had recently earned degrees and their families.
Story continues below
Pastor Greg Schannep had just parked his car along the side of the theater and was about to head into the ceremony when a man in uniform approached him.
"Sir, they are opening fire over there!" the man told him. At first, he thought it was a training exercise -- then heard three volleys and saw people running. As the man who warned him about the shots ran away, he could see the man's back was bloodied from a wound.
Schannep said police and medical and other emergency personnel were on the scene in an instant, telling people to get inside the theater. The post went into lockdown while a search began for a suspect and emergency workers began trying to treat the wounded. Some soldiers rushed to treat their injured colleagues by ripping their uniforms into makeshift bandages to treat their wounds.
Fort Hood Lt. Gen. Bob Cone praised the soldiers for their quick reaction.
"God bless these soldiers," Cone said. "As horrible as this was it could have been worse."
Video from the scene showed police patrolling the area with handguns and rifles, ducking behind buildings for cover. Sirens could be heard wailing while a woman's voice on a public-address system urged people to take cover. Schools on the base went into lockdown, and family members trying to find out what was happening inside found cell phone lines jammed or busy.
"I was confused and just shocked," said Spc. Jerry Richard, 27, who works at the center but was not on duty during the shooting. "Overseas you are ready for it. But here you can't even defend yourself."
The wounded were dispersed among hospitals in central Texas, Cone said. Their identities and the identities of the dead were not immediately released.
Jamie and Scotty Casteel stood outside the emergency room at the hospital in Temple waiting for news of their son-in-law Matthew Cooke, who was among the injured.
"He's been shot in the abdomen and that's all we know," Jamie Casteel told The Associated Press. She said Cook, from New York state, had been home from Iraq for about a year.
Amber Bahr, 19, was shot in the stomach but was in stable condition, said her mother, Lisa Pfund of Random Lake, Wis.
"We know nothing, just that she was shot in the belly," Pfund said. She couldn't provide more details and only spoke with emergency personnel.
Ashley Saucedo told WOOD-TV in Michigan that her husband was shot in the arm, but she couldn't discuss specifics. Saucedo said she and the couple's two children weren't permitted to leave their home at Fort Hood during the shootings.
The motive for the shooting wasn't clear, but Hasan was apparently set to deploy soon, and had expressed some anger about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, said generals at Fort Hood told her that Hasan was about to deploy overseas. Retired Col. Terry Lee, who said he had worked with Hasan, told Fox News he was being sent to Afghanistan.
Lee said Hasan had hoped Obama would pull troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq and got into frequent arguments with others in the military who supported the wars.
For six years before reporting for duty at Fort Hood, in July, the 39-year-old Army major worked at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center pursuing a career in psychiatry, as an intern, a resident and, last year, a fellow in disaster and preventive psychiatry. He received his medical degree from the military's Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., in 2001.
But his record wasn't sterling. At Walter Reed, he received a poor performance evaluation, according to an official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the case publicly. And while he was an intern, Hasan had some "difficulties" that required counseling and extra supervision, said Dr. Thomas Grieger, who was the training director at the time.
At least six months ago, Hasan came to the attention of law enforcement officials because of Internet postings about suicide bombings and other threats, including posts that equated suicide bombers to soldiers who throw themselves on a grenade to save the lives of their comrades.
Investigators had not determined for certain whether Hasan was the author of the posting, and a formal investigation had not been opened before the shooting, said law enforcement officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the case.
10:09PM ET -- Col. Ben Danner says Hasan was shot at least 4 times.
9:43PM ET -- Fort Hood commanding officer holds press conference. Watch the press conference given roughly 30 minutes ago by Lt. Gen Bob Cone. Cone reversed earlier reports of the suspected gunman's death, saying Hasan was shot and wounded but is alive and in stable condition.
9:21 PM ET -- Gunman Hasan not dead but wounded. Lt. Gen Bob Cone is holding a press conference right now and he has just confirmed that the gunman Nidal Malik Hasan is not dead, contrary to prior reports. He was shot and wounded and has not been interrogated yet. Hasan is in stable condition. Cone cited confusion at the hospital for the earlier incorrect reports of Hasan's death.
Cone also cannot speak to if Hasan was firing indiscriminately or targeting specific people. Earlier reports had Hasan using two handguns, but Cone said one of the weapons was a semi-automatic weapon. Cone praised the first responders on the scene, saying this could have been much worse than it was.
9:02 PM ET -- Fort Hood families can call 254-288-7570 for information.
8:56 PM ET -- Shootings reportedly not indiscriminate. CNN reports that Senator Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison is saying the shootings were not indiscriminate but were targeted at specific people. This has not been confirmed beyond Hutchison.
8:51 PM ET -- Authorities aware of Hasan six months ago. The AP reports that Hasan came to the attention of authorities six months ago due to internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other attacks. It is not confirmed that Hasan was the author of these postings. One of the them can be read here.
8:32 PM ET -- Compounding the tragedy is that Fort Hood has lost more troops in the Iraq war than any U.S. based military facility.
8:29PM ET -- Nadar Hasan, cousin to gunman, speaks to Fox News. Hasan's cousin spoke to Fox News' Shepard Smith and said the family is "shocked" at the news. He said Hasan is a "good American" who joined the military "against his parents' wishes... right out of high school." Being deployed to Iraq was his "worst nightmare." Watch the interview here.
8:09PM ET -- Suspect in custody is suspected second shooter. Ft. Hood spokesman Christopher Haug told Campbell brown that authorities suspect there were two shooters, and the person in authorities have in custody is suspected of being the second shooter.
8:06PM ET -- Authorities report that the lockdown on Fort Hood has been lifted.
7:53PM ET -- Another man detained for questioning. Fort Hood spokesman Christopher Haug confirms reports that another person has been detained for questioning in the shooting.
7:38PM ET -- Fox News' Shepard Smith reports he is hearing that the two men who were arrested and subsequently released were trying to stop the shooting and were detained out of precaution.
7:33 PM ET -- Raw video from Fort Hood.
7:31 PM ET -- NBC News: Another shooting victim has died. The victim was identified as a female by MSNBC.
7:02 PM ET -- AP Newsbreak: "AP source: Suspected Fort Hood shooter got poor performance evaluation for Army hospital work."
6:41 PM ET -- Congressman: Other soldiers detained have been released. "The two suspects arrested shortly after the shooting have been released," the Austin American-Statesman reports, citing the office of Rep. John Carter, whose district includes Fort Hood.
6:26 PM ET -- Senator: Suspect was upset about deployment. Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison told CNN that the Army Major identified as one of the shooters at Fort Hood was upset about his upcoming deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Texas Sen. Jon Cornyn urges patience:
It is imperative that we take the time to gather all the facts, as it would be irresponsible to be the source of rumors or inaccurate information regarding such a horrific event. Once we have ascertained all the facts, working with our military leaders and law enforcement officials on the ground, we can determine what exactly happened at Fort Hood today and how to prevent something like this from ever happening again. We do not yet have these details. My prayers are with the individuals who were killed today, the wounded and their loved ones.

Just as I predicted last night, already we are hearing reports that this shooting is " Muslim terror directed". Yes, it is the war come home. These kids have been in combat over and over. This Dr. was known for being opposed to both these wars and to hear their horror stories day after day drove him past the brink of madness.
If Obama had a clue he would see this as a call to end this insanity.
I fear just the opposite will occur.

Sadly, I think you have that right.....Muslim soldiers and Muslim-Americans are going to be dying by the bushel shortly. The terror WE started has come full around.....as it always does....called 'Blowback' in the trade....
...it will not be 'said to be', but will be 'used to justify' more troops, more War, more death - abroad - and increasingly at home.....:bawling:

Focusing on Ft. Hood Killer's Beliefs Are an Easy Out to Avoid the Deeper Reasons for the Massacre

That alleged killer Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is a Muslim is not enough to explain the motive for the attacks.

Agreed, A tad [Or two] of cynicism is called for. While one can easily understand [even if we must still condemn!] his breaking psychologically on his own - one has to wonder if there might not have been some mind-control at play here......but whatever his 'motivation' it will be USED for the worst purposes [to divide 'us' and kill 'them], rather than as a wake-up call...'
The fact that at first the shooter was said to be dead [planned scenario?] also does give rise to speculation of a total lie and psyop.....How many have we had since 11/22/63?....hard to keep track there have been SO many!...that most pass-off as odd coincidence or lone-nuts. Bu then the propaganda machinery keeps cranking-out its propaganda to make the average person think JUST that. This one is too early to call - but the 'effects' I predict will be global and very bad......

Second Gunman In Custody At Army's Fort Hood -Report 06 Nov 2009 A second gunman is in custody after a shooting at the Army's Fort Hood in Texas in which at least seven people were killed and 12 wounded, reports KCEN-TV of Waco. The report comes about two hours after a first suspect was captured, shortly after gunfire broke out. Authorities say the gunmen were dressed in fatigues, though it's not confirmed whether they are military personnel. It's also not known if the victims were military personnel or civilians.
Surviving Fort Hood shooting suspect arrested at golf course, officer says Updated 2334 GMT 05 Nov 2009 A senior officer who was playing golf Thursday near Fort Hood, Texas, told CNN he witnessed the arrest of one of the two surviving suspects of the shooting at the Army installation. Shortly after the shooting, the officer said, military police told him to clear the course and he saw other MPs surround the building that held the golf carts, he said. The senior officer said he ducked into a nearby house for cover as 30 to 40 cars carrying MPs approached. He said he saw a soldier in battle-dress uniform, his hands in the air. The MPs ordered him to lie on the ground and open his uniform, presumably to ensure he was not carrying explosives, the senior officer said. He said an MP told him that authorities considered the man to be a suspect in the shootings after having overheard the man say he was with the shooter. The man was surrounded for 25 to 30 minutes, until a convoy of vehicles arrived, led by a Ford Crown Victoria and carrying men in suits, and he was taken away, the senior officer said.
Fort Hood gunman [allegedly] shouted 'Allahu Akbar' as he opened fire --Army psychiatrist remains on ventilator after rampage that killed 13 people and wounded 28 06 Nov 2009 A US army psychiatrist about to be deployed to Afghanistan allegedly shouted "Allahu Akbar", or "God is greatest", as he opened fire at a military base in Texas, killing 13 people and wounding 28. The gunman, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, 39, shouted the Arabic phrase just before he began his shooting spree at Fort Hood military installation yesterday, according to the base commander, Lieutenant General Robert Cone.
Details emerge about Fort Hood suspect's history 06 Nov 2009 Army psychiatrist Nidal Malik Hasan, suspect in the assault that killed 13 people at Fort Hood, Texas, and hurt 30, salved the emotional wounds of troops returning from war even as he objected to his own looming deployment to Afghanistan, where he was to counsel soldiers suffering from stress... Hasan recently was involved in a spat with another Fort Hood soldier residing in his apartment complex, apparently related to his Muslim beliefs. The manager of the complex, John Thompson, said the other soldier, John Van de Walker, allegedly keyed Hasan's car and also removed and tore up a bumper sticker that read "Allah is Love." Thompson said Van de Walker had been in Iraq and was upset to learn that Hasan was Muslim. A report filed with Killeen police on Aug. 16 indicates that Hasan's vehicle, a 2006 Honda Civic, had been scratched by an unknown object causing an estimated $1,000 worth of damage. The report indicates that Van de Walker, 30, was arrested on Oct. 21 and charged with criminal mischief.
Death toll rises to 13 in Ft. Hood shootings --Army officials confirmed that the alleged gunman, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, was due to be deployed overseas. Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, was shot by a police officer and is hospitalized. 06 Nov 2009 As authorities continue to search for clues on what prompted the shooting Thursday at Ft. Hood, the death toll rose today to 13. Twenty-eight of the 31 people injured in the attack on the nation's largest military base remain hospitalized. The alleged shooter, an Army psychiatrist who was wounded during the attack, is also hospitalized, unconscious and on a ventilator.
Officers raid Texas home of suspect in Fort Hood shootings 06 Nov 2009 Officers raided the apartment of the soldier suspected in the shootings at Fort Hood, Texas, early Friday, searching for clues as to what caused the military psychiatrist to allegedly gun down soldiers he had taken an oath to help, a police spokeswoman said. The alleged gunman, identified as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, opened fire at a military processing center at Fort Hood, killing 13 and wounding 30 others, Lt. Gen. Robert Cone said... In the nearby town of Killeen, a SWAT team and FBI agents were searching Hasan's apartment to help determine what caused the shooting, which military experts called the worst mass shooting at an American military base, Carol Smith, a Killeen police spokeswoman, said early Friday.
Surveillance video shows Fort Hood suspect before shootings 06 Nov 2009 An owner of a 7-Eleven convenience store in Fort Hood, Texas, said Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan came in for coffee and hashbrowns most mornings, including the day he allegedly shot dozens of soldiers. Surveillance video from the store obtained by CNN shows a man who, according to the store owner, is Hasan at the cashier's counter at about 6:20 a.m. Thursday (7:20 a.m. ET) -- about seven hours before the mass shooting. "He looked normal, came in had his hashbrowns and coffee as you see in the surveillance video," the owner told CNN. Another surveillance video from the store on Tuesday showed the man believed to be Hasan in scrubs... In 2009, Hasan he completed a fellowship in disaster and preventive psychiatry and was assigned to Darnall in July. He had been awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon, but was never deployed outside the United States.
Motive a mystery after Fort Hood rampage --12 die; gunman remain hospitalized, despite earlier reports 06 Nov 2009 An Army psychiatrist about to be deployed to a combat zone overseas allegedly shot and killed 12 people and wounded 31 in a rampage at this sprawling military post north of Austin on Thursday afternoon. Post officials originally said that the suspected shooter -- Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan -- had been killed, but late in the day said he was wounded and in critical condition at a nearby hospital... Hasan is accused of attacking his fellow soldiers about 1:30 p.m. at the Soldier Readiness Processing Center. Armed with two pistols, he shot more than 40 people before military police and civilian police officers responded, officials said. He was wounded by a civilian policewoman, who was injured in the exchange, police said. Officials had reported earlier that the police officer had been killed. Hasan's motives were unclear, and early on Thursday, he showed no signs of worry or stress when he stopped at 7-Eleven for his daily breakfast of hash browns, said Jeannie Strickland, the store's manager. "He came in (Thursday) morning just like normal," she said, "nothing weird, nothing out of the ordinary." A few hours later, officials said, the Virginia native began his rampage on the post.
Counter-terror plans will be revised to reflect Fort Hood and Afghan attacks [Wow, that was quick!] 05 Nov 2009 (UK) A soldier turning on his comrades at Fort Hood, an Afghan policeman killing the British soldiers who trained him - two uncannily similar events in two days, but incidents which, across the Western world, security authorities have been planning for and dreading. Since the Mumbai attacks counter-terrorism planning has seen a major shift. The shootings in Afghanistan and Fort Hood carry echoes of the attacks in India with the added danger that the enemy has come from within.
AP: Authorities Had Concerns About Suspect Over Internet Postings [Wow, that was quick, too!] 05 Nov 2009 Federal law enforcement officials say the suspected Fort Hood, Texas, shooter had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats. The officials say the postings appeared to have been made by Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who was killed during the shooting incident that left least 11 others dead and 31 wounded... The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case. One of the Web postings that authorities reviewed is a blog that equates suicide bombers with a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades.
Suspected Fort Hood gunman graduated from Virginia Tech 05 Nov 2009 The Army psychiatrist suspected of carrying a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas, was born in Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech University, where he was a member of the ROTC and earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry in 1997. Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan had come to the attention of authorities six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats, law enforcement officials said Thursday... He received his medical degree from the military’s Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., in 2001. He did his internship, residency and a fellowship at Walter Reed.
Twelve dead as US soldiers go on shooting rampage at Fort Hood military base in Texas 05 Nov 2009 At least 12 people have been killed and more than 30 injured after three US soldiers went on a shooting rampage at the Fort Hood military base in Texas. The Army says one of the gunmen has been killed and two others apprehended and all of the gunmen are US soldiers. Lieutenant General Bob Cone: "A shooter opened fire. That person was killed. At this time, we are looking at 12 dead and 31 wounded. They are dispersed among the local hospitals in this area in Texas. "The shooter was killed. He was a soldier. We since then have apprehended two additional soldiers who are suspects, and I would go into the point that there were eyewitness accounts that there may have been more than one shooter." The massacre happened at a training centre on the sprawling grounds of the largest US military base in the world. One gunman was caught quickly but the others went on the run. Four police officers were shot and wounded before they were arrested. Eyewitnesses said the gunmen were dressed in military uniforms.
12 dead, 30 injured in shootings at Fort Hood --Army psychiatrist was gunman in Texas incident, military officials tell NBC 05 Nov 2009 An Army psychiatrist opened fire Thursday at Fort Hood, Texas, killing 12 people and wounding 30 others before being shot to death, officials told NBC News. Eleven of the victims died at the scene, military officials said. A 12th died later at a hospital, NBC station KCEN-TV of Waco reported.
12 Dead, 31 Wounded in Base Shootings 06 Nov 2009 At least 12 people were killed and 31 wounded Thursday afternoon in a shooting at a military installation in Fort Hood, Texas, according to military spokesmen. Lt. General Bob Cone said in Texas that the shooter was an Army soldier who opened fire in a “readiness facility.” Lt. Gen. Cone confirmed that the shooter had been killed. Two other Army soldiers were in custody as suspects. President Obama said it was "horrifying" that American soldiers would face such a situation at home.
Fort Hood death toll now at 12; gunmen were U.S. soldiers 05 Nov 2009 At least 12 people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting at Fort Hood Army Base near Killeen, Texas, when at least one gunmen opened fire on soldiers who were making their final deployment preparations. Lt. Gen. Bob Cone, the commander of III Corps, said that at least one gunman opened fire at the base's Soldiers Readiness Processing Center where soldiers were receiving medical and dental exams prior to deployment. The gunman's fire was returned -- Cone did not say by whom -- and the gunman was killed. Two other soldiers who may have participated in the shootings were arrested in nearby buildings, Cone said. At least one of the dead was a civilian police officer working at the base.

The gunman who killed 12 people today at Ft. Hood appears, based on current media reports, to be Army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan who was listed as a participant in a Homeland Security Policy Institute’s presidential transition task force last year. ...
According to the task force’s May 2009 report [pdf], a “Nidal Hasan” from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine was a task force event participant.
[hint, hint....Obama is responsible in part [and a closet Muslim, to boot]....
Good stuff above Magda! The 'two other shooters' is a VERY interesting aspect....My fear is their participation will never be settled for 'certain', like the number of shooters in Dallas.... Too much doesn't fit in this strange tale! His normal behavior at the 7-11 is very telling, as well. Will there be an investigation - doubt it. A Faux News talkinghead said that 'his last name tells all that needs to be known.' [not an exact quote...I can find it...but close.]

Fort Hood Massacre - Mind Control?
Just asking ... I don't have any proof that it wasn't ... Of course, we are ruling out religious mind control. As one commentator on the Fort Hood murders observed: "The sicker segments of humanity bend, twist, and warp their religions until they have an interpretation that justifies - in their minds - their compulsion to dominate others and to inflict maximum pain upon or even destroy those they can't dominate." This is a fair and balanced description of the religious right, of course - its leadership does the bending and twisting - and there are corollaries in other cultures. (Programming in a moral or religious justification for violent acts that a subject wouldn't ordinarly commit is a mind control tactic. If, for instance, a subject is commanded under hypnosis to kill his fellow GIs, he probably won't UNLESS given a rationale that overrides deep-seated moral convictions, eg. "these soldiers raped your sister." THEN the chances are that he will carry out the "Manchurian Candidate" programming and kill on command.) It's hypnotic or electronic mind control we're concerned with here, and as it happens, Hasan was situated very close to THAT variety, as well ... BTW, radio-hypnotic brain command and electronic short-term memory wipes (RHIC-EDOM) were perfected by the CIA IN 1960 - then the military took it up in the '60s - a signally significant step skipped in this article's timeline. - AC

... From Western propaganda news media reports on this massacre the American people are being told that a US Army Military Trained Psychiatrist, Major Nidal Malik Hasan [photo top left], became despondent over his recently receiving orders to deploy to Iraq and in “typical” lone gunman fashion, “decided” to open fire on hundreds of his fellow soldiers killing and wounding them without discrimination.
Completing the “new legend” (in almost record time too) about this “lone gunman” being made responsible for this massacre, the Western propaganda machines are reporting such idiocies as Major Hasan having previously “complained to relatives of harassment by fellow-officers mocking him for being Middle Eastern” (Major Hasan’s parents came from small Palestinian town near Jerusalem) and his “attracting the attention of police six months ago for internet postings analyzing the motives of suicide bombers that was not formally investigated”.
Interesting to note in these reports, however, about Major Hasan is his past psychiatric training, paid for by the US Military, at Virginia Tech University where he graduated from that schools Center for Applied Behavior Systems with a degree in biochemistry, a school which FSB reports have long warned “is most likely” one of the US Department of Defenses top PSYOP training centers and where in April, 2007, it suffered the worst school massacre in US history when a Chinese student named Seung-Hui Cho, reported to be a subject to mind-control experiments, single-handedly gunned down 32 fellow students.
Even more interesting to note is that from the initial chaotic scene of the Fort Hood massacre not just the wounded Major Hason [taken] into custody, but so were three other “alleged” gunmen, two of whom were released leaving one, at last report, still in US Army custody.
Now to understand the circumstances that placed Major Hasan at Fort Hood in the first place one has to understand that he was one of the US Militaries top PSYOP specialists and had received his medical degree, with honors, from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, in 2001, and did his internship at Walter Reed Army Hospital.
Major Hasan then became one of the top researchers at the US Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress in the field this US Military funded organization stated was:
“Center scientists are actively engaged in studies of military deployment, combat stress and the mental health of active duty, Guard and Reserve and veterans. This research helps military command (leaders, physicians and mental health providers) mitigate, respond to and foster recovery from the consequences of war and other military extreme environments that can occur in combat, peacekeeping and humanitarian assistance.
"In addition, a primary focus of the Center is conducting studies of the impact of deployment on servicemen and women and their families. This research includes surveillance of psychiatric problems among battle injured soldiers, and measuring the psychological effect of treating severely injured and disfigured soldiers deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan on health care providers at institutions like Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center.”
[Note: The US Military has completely removed the website of their Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress organization early on the morning of 6 November 2009]
From his position at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress, Major Hasan became one of the originators of what is called the US Army's “Warrior Combat Reset Program” set up to help American soldiers returning from war zones, or being redeployed to them, cope with what is called post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and which according to these reports led to his being at Fort Hood to “electronically prepare” an experimental group of US Soldiers for their return to the Iraq war zone.
Important to be understood about these reports is their detailing that nearly all of the US military forces are suffering what is termed a “catastrophic” level of stress disorders, murders, rapes and suicides so bad that American commanders are now warning that the readiness of their forces in is danger of “outright collapse”, and which is no wonder being that in just three short months this will become the longest war in US history.
Making the recycling of these battle hardened US Soldiers (to keep killing and dying for reasons they don’t even know about anymore) even more crucial are new American Military reports stating that over one-third of “Americans ages 17-24 are unqualified for military service because of physical and medical issues.”
So to yesterday’s massacre at Fort Hood, and Major Hasan’s “true role” in it, we need to turn to a little known, but extremely shocking case filed in the United States this past spring by a San Francisco lawyer named Gordon Erspamer and alleging:
“That [US] government scientists conducted human experiments at Edgewood is not in question. “The program involved testing of nerve agents, nerve agent antidotes, psychochemicals, and irritants," according to a 1994 General Accounting Office (now the Government Accountability Office) report (PDF). At least 7,800 US servicemen served "as laboratory rats or guinea pigs" at Edgewood, alleges Erspamer's complaint, filed in January in a federal district court in California. The Department of Veterans Affairs has reported that military scientists tested hundreds of chemical and biological substances on them, including VX, tabun, soman, sarin, cyanide, LSD, PCP, and World War I-era blister agents like phosgene and mustard. The full scope of the tests, however, may never be known. As a CIA official explained to the GAO, referring to the agency's infamous MKULTRA mind-control experiments, "The names of those involved in the tests are not available because names were not recorded or the records were subsequently destroyed." Besides, said the official, some of the tests involving LSD and other psychochemical drugs "were administered to an undetermined number of people without their knowledge.”
And among these “experiments” conducted on US Soldiers by their government, and according to FSB files was a “research specialty” of Major Hasan’s, one was one called Radio Hypnotic Intracerebral Control Electronic Dissolution of Memory (RHIC-EDOM) which was pioneered for the US Military in the 1960’s by New York University Professor J. Anthony Deutsch who…“indicated that the mind is a transmitter and if too much information is received, like too many vehicles on a crowded freeway, the brain ceases to transmit. The Professor indicated that an excess of acetyl choline in the brain can interfere with the memory process and control. He indicated excess amounts of acetyl choline can be artificially produced, through both the administration of drugs or through the use of radio waves. The process is called Electronic Dissolution of Memory (EDOM). The memory transmission can be stopped for as long as the radio signal continues.”
So strong was the American Military and Intelligence establishments’ belief that only by “erasing” the previous “battle stained” memories of their Soldiers could they be made to continue killing and dying that in 2007 they contracted with Russia’s Psychotechnology Research Institute in Moscow to purchase a system called Semantic Stimuli Response Measurements Technology (SSRM Tek) which is a software-based mind reader that tests a subject's involuntary response to subliminal messages and which was used by the Soviet Military on Russian troops being redeployed to Afghanistan.
Unfortunately for the Americans, and who were undoubtedly warned by their Russian counterparts about this, the previous Soviet experiments using SSRM Tek software combined with RHIC-EDOM technology had a very dangerous side-effect of “triggering immediate battle memories” instead of “erasing” them and resulting in masses of Russian troops who were undergoing these experiments to “erupt” in “immediate violence” which left an estimated 37 of them dead when they began (for no apparent reason) to begin firing upon each other.
In the United States today 13 American Soldiers lie dead, and many more are wounded leaving countless numbers of wives, children, fathers and mothers to mourn over their seemingly senseless killing.
But, like the events of 9/11, the assassinations of their President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert, and the great civil rights leader Martin Luther King have shown us, these Americans have been well schooled in seeing only what they are told to see when tragedies like these, and Fort Hood now, occur.
Sometimes the childlike stories concocted by their propaganda masters to explain these horrific events are enough to placate the American people, but one has to wonder when at least some of them will wake up to the stark and brutal truth about what is happening to them. One can only wonder if these Americans had demanded the truth before if these Soldiers were massacred would still be alive?
That is not in our knowing. But what is in our knowing is this, before they awaken from their long slumber these Americans can expect many more such deaths. We’re sure their propaganda organs are up to the task.
