Well, Hank's book is well into the mainstream now but.... there seems to be a lot of trivialisation even discrediting of it. Which is to be expected given the contents. The ABC review being an obvious one as with the science review I posted in the Olsen thread.
For some reason, best known the the ABC editor, it is filed in the 'Health' section. While it is true that CIA black operations are dangerous to their victim's health in most cases but I think it might have done better under some other subject heading. Perhaps even a relevant one like 'CIA' 'Human Experimentation' even 'Cold War Paranoia' But it will be lost in the 'Health' section and safely overlooked as irrelevant there by those looking for information on the latest in a cancer cure or super vitamin.
Another little beauty of the review was this gem:

Quote:Despite the latest revelations, the absolute truth about the "pain maudit," or cursed bread incident as it was called, may never be known for sure.Nothing like creating a cloud of doubt and uncertainty. Ignore all the documents, ignore the fact that the operation had its own name. Ignore the testimony of the participants. Ignore the testimony of those in the cover up Ignore all the evidence. Ignore the other operation using the same MO of the same organisation. Despite all of that 'It may never be known for sure what happened' Even if it happened for sure. Go back to sleep. Move along now. Nothing to see here. :marchmellow:
