Guido Preparata's website

A genuine pioneer and genius, with the guts and style to match, his website is itself a thing of beauty.

All this matters because the Anglo-American stewards have again beached the world economy in pursuit of geo-political objectives in the Eurasian heartland. We can't say, this time, that we haven't been warned.

Oooooh, very nice indeed. Wish the web designer had catered for more flexible screen sizing as I get some edges cut off. But it is a work of art. I'm reading his essays on a plea for disposable local currencies which is something close to my own heart. I'm glad you introduced him to us Paul.

"He would, wouldn't he?" Mandy Rice-Davies. When asked in court whether she knew that Lord Astor had denied having sex with her.

“I think it would be a good idea” Ghandi, when asked about Western Civilisation.

Thanks Paul

Pity he doesn't have an RSS feed but no matter.

I regard 'Conjuring Hitler' as a seminal work on the origins of WWII and the Anglo-American Imperial Project. Read it and all those strange hard to place bits simply fall into place and the picture it paint bears no relationship to the official one.

It should be required reading for O-A level students as an antidote to the de-rigeur Churchill hero worship of the Establishment. In truth the man was no better than Adolph himself; it's just that 'History is being kind to him, because he - with malice aforethought - he wrote it.

As Lord Acton said in the continuation of his oft quoted '..All power tends to corrupt' observation - 'Great men are almost always bad men' Winston Churchill was most certainly no exception.
Peter Presland

".....there is something far worse than Nazism, and that is the hubris of the Anglo-American fraternities, whose routine is to incite indigenous monsters to war, and steer the pandemonium to further their imperial aims"
Guido Preparata. Preface to 'Conjuring Hitler'[size=12][size=12]

A proposal, modest, if not necessarily Swiftian, Pete.

We should cobble together some nonsense cover story - we're a Swedish Coptic evangelical sect of positively catholic intellectual tastes, that sort of guff - and proceed to persuade the cove Gove, our esteemed Secretary for Education, to fund our establishment of a school dedicated to "conspiracy theory" history (ie tomorrow's truth).

After a morning's Preparata, a lunchtime with Father Gerard, and an afternoon dedicated to the finer points of match-fixing for geopolitical ends, we would offer after-school clubs dedicated to financial embezzlement for poor people, tax-avoidance for the middle incomer, and buying political parties for the principled.

We'd last about a week, but by God, we'd have some fun, not least with the compulsory course, Churchill was a Shit.

For those wishing to ease themselves into the meta-narrative of Anglo-American perfidy so forensically dissected by Preparata, try Christopher Hitchens' best book, Blood, Class and Nostalgia: Anglo-American Ironies (London: Vintage paperback, 1991). It touches many of the right bases, if only fleetingly; and has a fine chapter on The Churchill Cult (chapter 7), which recalls a long-gone America (of Senator Borah et al), one still capable of seeing through the charlatan WC.

As I continue to make my way through Conjuring Hitler, I must admit the scales have again fallen from my eyes -- and I had thought there were none left to fall.

I read that book shortly after it was published and urged others to do the same. It was so enlightening and made so much sense. Even my father many years before had understood the odd allianaces and pre-war subterfuges which had acted to cause WWII and the Eastern Front.

Do I remember correctly that Guido Preparata had had an academic position at the University of Oregon at the time he wrote and published his book, and then was dismissed from the University because of its thesis? Although other reasons for his dismissal may have been given by the University, his book was considered rather controversial by some University officials, I believe.

His bio indicates that he was at the U of Washington as an Associate Professor -- sounds like it was tenure track from his title. He must not have made tenure. He is now a "lecturer" in criminology -- and he is not rich from this delivering lectures as an adjunct. His quote from his the home page of his blog tells the story. Courage!

BTW I do not find his book an easy read.

Begining on page 12 of his "Afterword" to the German edition of his book,
Dr. Preparata describes the battle over his book and academic career,
after his book was published in 2005.

He was promoted from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor in 2007,
but left in 2008. He had begun teaching there in 2000.
