This is indeed a fascinating discussion. My read is that Irvin's argument prevails. The CIA could care less that millions of people have come to a new consciousness in the "hippie" movement. So much the better. History is created by the Hegelian dialectic of placing opposing forces in conflict -- full spectrum dominance via sinister forces with some Sandoz creations thrown as needed.

In all due respect Lauren that statement is just flat wrong.I'll not argue the point. We will have to just agree to disagree here.

Jan Irvin:
Quote:We had to have sexual deviants like Bernays first who thought it was cool to mime masturbation in front of crowds, and without sociopaths such as him, who worked with Wasson, who promoted the drugs with the CIA and CFR, we wouldn't have had hippies. Hippies were a creation to degrade society… this was done by irrational sophists who don't think clearly and appeal to religious beliefs for justification of their hate crimes.

Hippies were a creation to degrade society…

You think Irvin's argument prevailed?

Well, thanks for letting me know that I'm a degradation to society...Love you too.........

I agree. I was a hippie. We sprang up in large part to protest the war in Vietnam. And the wonderful music that was out then...in 67 the summer of love in San Francisco. The CIA infiltrated but they had not "invent" us.
And many of us are still "here" in that spirit of peace and love.
Sadly they do have new and horrible synthetic drugs.
Avoid at all costs "synthetic pot". Called K2 and kush, among other names.
Extremely dangerous stuff.
What proof do we have that Huxley was CIA?
