Royal wedding

David Guyatt Wrote:Tut, tut, I see that the Windsor's - and particularly the old goat of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg - have missed a trick with the timing of young Wales wedding on 29th April 2012.

A little forethought and the cuffs could've been slapped on a Friday, not a Sunday, and the declaration of a bank holiday to memorialize the event wouldn't have hurt either.

It should've been arranged for the far more fitting date of 20th April 2012.

Well, April 29th is just one day before Walpurgisnicht, another memorable date in some circles.

I know that his best mate, Prince Bernhard, was considered a security threat. The Admiralty wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. Maybe Philip was being watched with a jaundiced eye, eh?
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.

Bless me, Pamela.

It just gets better and better. Marriage on the eve of Walpurgisnicht night.

How long did the marriage of Schicklgruber and his black-clad Braun wife last?

That's right, one day. Then they both apparently topped themselves.

I hope the royal couple last longer than that........

When I realized this, I found it devastating. I liked Princess Diana and wish her sons only the best. I do not hold the others in the same regard, though. After leading Diana as a teenager into a miry mess and just expecting her to 'buck up', I would much prefer if they would simply all retire, to Scotland, maybe, since they seem to like Balmoral so much. That would return the crown to the Stuart (at least half) bloodline, which can only be better imo.

It is my belief someone in this 'family' said "I have a stone in my royal shoe - won't someone please remove it!"....and Diana was 'removed'. I'd say some of them belong in the Tower of London instead of the tourists. Their not 'quaint', their leeches! Royal Leeches, IMO. [not even suitable for 'cupping']

We in the USA have a non-hereditary kind of 'royalty', based simply on being Big [rich] and Bad [REAL BAD!!!!!]

Love the Monty Python crew, David. (You guys should consider exporting that kind of stuff.... oh wait.) I'd guess I should run down to the shop and pick up some CD's and DVD's to study and rehearse so I can match wits you Brits. Best I can do is add a little theme music for the Walpurgis angle... Picture the bride walking down the aisle to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgFdRQLVVPA
