An intelligent president like JFK was a problem for people like Rockefeller-who want a dumb populace

Ok so I'm reading about John D. Rockefeller's Occasional Letter No.1 "detailing plans to mold the people, reduce national intelligence to the lowest common denominator, destroy parental influence, traditional and customs, and eliminate science and real learning, "in order to perfect human nature."

The gist is that Rockefeller became an education philanthropist at least in part as a path to a controlled population—a population of "sheeple" customized for optimal ditch digging. Good read/background material here:

So I'm wondering if President Kennedy's unusually lively intellect, and emphasis on learning, was yet another aspect that infuriated the ruling class. I'm not suggesting that it was a factor in his murder; there were plenty of those factors. His peacenik proclivities alone were enough to do him in.

But, has anyone ever come across any evidence, readings, anything to indicate that JFK's love of learning and the arts was something that earned him the enmity of the rulers because they didn't want that mindset to contaminate the carefully cultivated dumbed-down populace?

Myra, can you point me more precisely to the "perfect people's nature" quote on the Timeline please, as I would like to track back the origin of that quote.

Ta.
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.

It's under the 1904 date David. Second paragraph:

'John D. Rockefeller issues "Occasional Letter No.1" detailing plans to mold the people, reduce national intelligence to the lowest common denominator, destroy parental influence, traditional and customs, and eliminate science and real learning, "in order to perfect human nature".'

It's an interesting question, Myra. I can vaguely remember reading anecdotal comments pertaining to this over the years but I wouldn't know where to look for them now. I'm sure you're right, though. It might be difficult finding criticism of JFK's emphasis on learning from his enemies, on the record at least.

Besides his numerous speeches, his broad understanding of policy issues and where he saw America's place in the world is evident in his press conferences. In his final one, he displays the sharpest intellect of any President I've seen.

Can't imagine any of JFK's successors handling such a comprehensive inquisition so well, or so honestly. Such a rational, independent thinker as chief executive was a deadly dangerous threat to the ruling elite and their plans. They must have cursed themselves for letting him get there in the first place, so they took no chances on history repeating with Bobby.

Thanks Myra. I managed to track down "Occasional letter No 1" which coincidentally was written by Frederick T Gates, Rockefeller's close friend and finncial adviser. This is none other than the grandfather of Robert Gates, Bush and Obama's Def. Sec.

http://www.sntp.net/education/leipzig_connection_6.htm:

Quote: In our dreams, we have limitless resources and the people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding bands. The present education conventions fade from their minds, and unhampered by tradition, we work our own good will upon a grateful and responsive rural folk. We shall not try to make these people or any of their children into philosophers or men of learning, or men of science. We have not to raise up from among them authors, editors, poets or men of letters. We shall not search for embryo great artists, painters, musicians nor lawyers, doctors, preachers, politicians, statesmen, of whom we have an ample supply.
The task we set before ourselves is very simple as well as a very beautiful one, to train these people as we find them to a perfectly ideal life just where they are. So we will organize our children and teach them to do in a perfect way the things their fathers and mothers are doing in an imperfect way, in the homes, in the shops and on the farm.

Speaking of obscene Rockefeller quotes, David Rockefeller said "A supernational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries." This from the 1991 Bilderberg meeting. Anyone need a vomit bag? - turbulance ahead!

As to the premise of the thread, I think the Oligarchs like dumb as **** average folks, but don't mind intelligent and well-spoken politicians AS LONG AS THEY tow the line...if they get out of step...well that is what the 'jackels' are for.

Also JFk could not be bought off. He had plenty of money. He did not even take a salary. That must have pissed off the Rockerfellers to no end, especially in light of his father. They undoubtedly thought "like father like son" and then the rug was pulled.
No, we've not seen the likes of JFk in the WH since and never will.

While it is early days - and Obama is not yet even President, his choices for advisors and Cabinet etc. - not to mention his delays on promises certainly would leave one thinking he is not currently in any danger from the Secret {Deep} Government - and maybe only from someone who just won't abide by a Black in the White House. While he has the intelligence to evolve and people can change, with every day I feel less and less confident he's the type to likely do so...but we'll see. He is certainly going to be faced with an economy disaster never before seen in America. It will not be easy to do the usual Empire 'building' and 'democracy exporting' when 1/3 of the population is ill-fed, ill-housed, jobless, and mad as hell. Its going to be a very strange and I fear 'ugly' next several years that are very hard to predict. It does seem that he is the darling of the 'progressive' (sic) wing of the Deep Governmental Establishment - as Bush was for the regressive wing [Yankee and Cowboy Wars]. The differences on foreign policy only seem to be in the style; minor differences on domestic policy, but again mostly different rhetoric, with all too similar consequences. Let's hope he can be moved a little [or more than a little] toward the 'light' for OUR sake - or we are rather doomed for some VERY bad times.......coming upon the heels of 8 absolutely horrible ones. Bartender, make mine a quadruple!
