Israel On Killing Spree In Gaza
Quote:Perhaps he can get Hamas (if there's anything left of them) and their merry band of terrorists to the table....

Oh, I think there is plenty left of them. I can only see the IDF as acting the role of a Hamas recruitment agency. They have excelled themselves. Not only have they treated every resident of Gaza as an armed and dangerous member of Hamas, even 6 month old babies, but they might just make it so. The IDF action will swell the ranks of suicide bombers for generations to come and endanger the lives of ordinary people everywhere especially jewish people.

This is not the first time that Israel has killed Jews (or allowed them to be killed, same thing in the end) to justify the killing of Palestinians.

Quote:In that same year, the authoritative Jane's Foreign Report disclosed that the Blair government had given Israel the "green light" to attack the West Bank after it was shown Israel's secret designs for a bloodbath. It was typical of new Labour's enduring complicity in Palestine's agony. However, the Israeli plan, reported Jane's, needed the "trigger" of a suicide bombing which would cause "numerous deaths and injuries [because] the 'revenge' factor is crucial". This would "motivate Israeli soldiers to demolish the Palestinians". What alarmed Sharon and the author of the plan, General Shaul Mofaz, then Israeli chief of staff, was a secret agreement between Yasser Arafat and Hamas to ban suicide attacks. On 23 November 2001 Israeli agents assassinated the Hamas leader Mahmoud Abu Hanoud and got their "trigger": the suicide attacks resumed in response to his killing.

How useful "triggers" appear to be. One thinks not just of the Reich-stag fire, or of the Gulf of Tonkin incident, but also of 911 - an event that doubtless motivated that all too crucial need for "revenge".
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.

Indeed, Maggie.

The naked ferocity of the IDF's attack on civilians, especially defenceless women and children, has made everyone on the planet much less safe. I hope I live to see the war crimes trials.

The Palestinians will never forget this---and why should they?

Obama delivered possibly the unkindest cut of all yesterday at the State Department welcome for Hilary Israel Clinton when he told Hamas they "must recognise Israel and renounce violence".

WTF?? Did you say HAMAS, Mr. President? HAMAS must renounce violence?? And they should now RECOGNISE Israel? Well they already do recognise Israel, Mr. President--as the genocidal psychopaths they clearly are.

Obama will live to regret that comment, even if he was acting in the role of wind up toy. It was cruel and callous in the extreme. After the carnage of Israel's attack, Hamas--an extension of the Gazan people--are expected to display the disposition of Mother Theresa, and more.

Apparently this 'country' which calls itself Israel is now fully prepared for the tidal wave of international lawsuits following their 'defensive' campaign of the last 22 days. They've padded up, hector protector firmly in place, toadies alert and keen, and are apparently quietly confident they can dispatch many a delivery into the stands for six. That'll be the end of it, they'll say.

I don't think so.

Israel's war on Gaza killed 1,330 people,70 percent of the deaths were civilian; and wounded 5,450 others, Wounded included 1,890 children. Palestinian medics said on Thursday in a final toll of the offensive. 70 percent of the deaths were civilian. Overall, thirty-four health facilities—eight hospitals and twenty-six clinics—were damaged or destroyed in the Israeli attack.Add to that several UN facilities - including one with hundreds of tons of food and medicine. Plus the tunnels that brought-in food, fuel, parts, medicine etc. were destroyed.

Israeli side: 3 civilians, 10 soldiers [4 by friendly fire] (gives new meaning to the term asymetric warfare)

Genocide of a trapped population in a ghetto, IMO - the timing for end of Bush Regime and Israeli elections gave it an even more revolting blush. Weapons banned by international law were repeatedly used, but denied as used. Persons were phone by the IDF told to leave X and go seek shelter at Y; only to have Y bombed immediately afterwards.

Nothing for Israel to be proud of and I believe a turning-point for that nation - all downhill from here until the citizens retake their country - as the population of the USA and UK must also - all three are in the hands of a connected cabal of warmongers, apartheidists , ultra-right, and imperialists.

"Until" ..... aye, there's the rub.

I think you're more optimistic than I.

But I guess you gotta believe it's possible in order to try. So.... "until" it is.

From one realist and quasi-cynic to another - I'm NOT optimistic, but know it can be done - has been done before. The only think that might prevent that albeit small chance of the possibility would BE our complete inaction - feeling defeated before we are. We're 'down for the count' for sure, under the shoe, spied pon up the yazoo and our rights and freedoms all but completely stolen. It is simple, we [not just Americans] need a revolution - in fact, in ideas, in ideals, in morality, and in relationship to Gaia and the other beings on this tiny pebble in space. Nothing less will do! Enourmous? Difficult? You bet your ***! Only problem is the only alternative is extinction by the slow and painful method. Choose.

Looks like a tie between Kadima and Likud. The ultra ultra ring winger Avigdor Lieberman won 15 seats. If he forms a coalition with ultra right winger Netanyahu then war with Iran is a certainty, although its probably likely anyway.

There's only one person who can stop it--Barack Obama. The war drums are already starting up.

War seems inevitable as I can't see Iran bowing to Israeli demands to cease its nuclear ambitions. So Obama will need to talk to Israel in order to avert war. Unfortunately, judging by the support for the recent genocide in Gaza, now reinforced with support for right wingers in the election, I don't think the Israeli leadership will be receptive to reason.

I think Israel will try the usual pea and thimble trick by offering to release Palestinian prisoners combined with some superficial changes to the Gazan concentration camp, as a trade off for Iranian concessions. Trouble is, why should Iran make any concessions at all? Compared with Israel's deceitfulness in the nuclear arena, Iran is as pure as Snow White.

From the Lancet Global Report, descriptions of wounds suffered in Gaza and weapons used by the Israeli genocide machine.

Phosphorus shells, heavy bombs, silent bombs (that's a goodie), targeting of ambulances and a few good old fashioned executions of women, children and old people for good measure.

I think US aid to Israel is currently about 4-5 billion per annum. Well over a million bucks a day for these scumbag war criminals.

Question for US taxpayers currently staring down the abyss of economic ruin: how do you feel?

well..... some here feel the Israelis should of driven the Palestinians into Syria and Jordan, that certainly would be a bad PR move.... scanning local media news reports, the greater majority haven't uttered the words "war criminals" when speaking of Israel, yet. Guess we in the states have tougher stomachs for dirty work than most. I doubt the USofA has lost an ally because we support and finance Israel. There's moaning and groaning sure, but that's political posturing for other middle-eastern interests...

btw, we hit economic ruin, we'll have plenty of company, I wouldn't hold ones breath.....

Shows that some in the Israeli side have been on a killing spree for a long time.
