The US government's bin Laden story was so poorly crafted that it did not last 48 hours before being fundamentally altered. Indeed, the new story put out on Tuesday by White House press secretary Jay Carney bears little resemblance to the original Sunday evening story. The fierce firefight did not occur. Osama bin Laden did not hide behind a woman. Indeed, bin Laden, Carney said, "was not armed."
The firefight story was instantly suspicious as not a single SEAL got a scratch, despite being up against al Qaeda, described by former Pentagon chief Donald Rumsfeld as the most dangerous, best-trained, vicious killers on the face of the earth."

25-Minute blackout during raid on bin Laden compound --The head of the CIA admitted yesterday that there was no live video footage of the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound as further doubts emerged about the US version of events. 04 May 2011 Leon Panetta, director of the CIA, revealed there was a 25 minute blackout during which the live feed from cameras mounted on the helmets of the US special forces was cut off. A photograph released by the White House appeared to show the President and his aides in the situation room watching the action as it unfolded. In fact they had little knowledge of what was happening in the compound.

Is anyone else here beginning to suspect that someone went to an awful lot of trouble to make it really really obvious that this whole story was created out of whole cloth? What was it Burroughs said, "Wake up the marks"?

To read the lines and express the emotions scripted for them by those who hold real power?
Even when the script is dire, the plot is flawed, and a trapdoor straight to hell is placed centre stage.....

Only to add that CIA director stated that for the actual 25 minutes the 'action' took place there was NO LIVE feed to the White House......makes you wonder.....Hey Obama is the Wizard of Oz.....Toto's gonna find you out! Anyway one constructs or deconstructs this farce it is just that - a GRAND FARCE! I wonder WHAT they WERE watching, as apparently [but who to believe!?!] the Intelligence Community and/or the Military cut the video and audio during the real deal...if there even was a real deal...too many wheels of lies within wheels of lies...... My original use of the term "kabuki dance" or "kabuki theater" had to do, not with any notion that they were puppets being manipulated, but with the fact that the speech and gestures of the actors were greatly exaggerated, the halls having been large, and there having been no such things as microphones and amplification in the days when it developed. Obama didn't just announce the death of bin laden, he made a production out of it worthy of an ancient Japanese play and just as mythical.
Steve - I was not using Kabuki in the sense in which you used it.

What interests me is that someone, despite the obvious intent to keep the supposed video secret for, what, 75 years? decided to spill the beans. Could this have something to do with the shakeup at the Pentagram and the CIA? Is there an active faction operating in a manner analogous to the KGB during the final months of the USSR, when it became apparent to them from the events at Chernobyl, that the Soviet Union could not survive in its then current state?

I am reminded of Marina Oswald "verifying" that she took the obviously phony photos of Lee Oswald carrying the supposed murder rifle.
Basically, you stick a gun to somebody's head, either literally or figuratively, and ask them if they are going to cooperate or not.
