The quickly forgotten and majorly suppressed story of 911 short sales is no longer a mystery.

The FBI began investigating Elgindy after receiving a tip from a Solomon Smith Barney broker who said that on September 10, 2001 (that is, the day before the terror attacks on the World Trade Center), Elgindy had placed a call to Smith Barney instructing them to liquidate his kids’ trust funds. He also said, “Tomorrow the Dow is going to drop to 3,000 points.” (It was at 9,600 at the time.) The government spends months investigating whether Elgindy has connections to terrorists and advance knowledge of 9-11.

Ultimately, prosecutors indict him for the more demonstrable crimes of racketeering, conspiracy and securities fraud. (He gets 9 years for those crimes, and another 2 years for trying to flee the country.) Elgindy’s many offenses include bribing an FBI agent to provide him with information on agency investigations of public companies (the agent also gave Elgindy information on an on-going 9-11 investigation: Elgindy’s own), manipulative short-selling, and extortion. If the companies paid Elgindy off, he’d agree to stop disseminating false information about them.

Investigations carried out by FBI Special Agent Richard Taus discovered covert CIA operations which included the looting of Savings and Loans, and drug-trafficking with the American faction of the Mafia.
Agent Taus says he discovered that Oliver North, the White House, and the National Security Council, were all involved.

Taus mentioned a white-collar upper-echelon faction of the American Mafia, called the “K-Team”.

Taus described how his investigation took him to Florida and looking into certain flight and aviation fronts, like Southern Air Transport, which was employed by the CIA in the Iran-Contra operation.

Britannia Aviation operated from a hangar at Huffman Aviation at the Venice Airport.

It was found that Britannia had been providing maintenance services for Caribe Air, a CIA carrier.

Caribe Air aircraft had been seized a decade before by federal officials, at the Mena airbase in Arkansas, after having been accused by the government of using as many as twenty planes to ship drugs valued in the billions of dollars into the U.S.

Many flight trainers who trained the 'Arab terrorists' also flew “Christian missionary” flights to Central and South America, out of the Venice and Sarasota Airports, for Pat Robertson’s Operation Blessing. (Robertson is alleged to have CIA connections).

David, The article from Deep Capture is long but is the most cogent explanation I have ever read for the economic meltdown that this country is experiencing. Our elected representatives should have to read this.
And act. We need a slew of investigative journalists reporting this, and ethical lawyers prosecuting this reprehensible, illegal conduct.
Cramer is a thug. That is readily apparant from one viewing, but this article exposes him and many in this criminal operation.
It's the end for the USA if this is not remedied. But who is stopping them?

Dawn, I say it with sadness but I honestly think the great bulk of your elected representatives are all too familiar with they way things work to need reading that document.

Two things spring to mind. Firstly the statement made by mafia lawyer Michel Sindona when in prison before he was suicided to author Nick Tosches ("Power on Earth") in which he stated quite clearly that the world financial system was being harnessed by organized criminals and that unless something was done quickly to remedy it, the financial system would become their slave (not a verbatim quote by any means - just my recollection of the general drift of it, but the text of hist statement was posted on this forum a month or two ago by Linda Minor).

Secondly, the statement made in Joel van der Riejden's excellent essay "La Nebuleuse" (http://www.isgp.eu/dutroux_and_nebula/Be...Nebula.htm) by a senior Belgian policeman based on their investigations:

"To comprehend this nebula, it is necessary to abandon traditional financial or political logic; this is not merely a question of nation, political party, or of ordinary economics... Our conclusion would be that at least over the last twenty years, the economic powers, some of which mafia types, have allied themselves with political forces and organized criminal structures, and reached the 4th stage of money laundering, namely, Absolute Power. It has been specified to us that at the present moment these characters control 50% of the world economy."

Nick Tosches book was published in 1986 and the Belgian Gemdarmerie report dates to 1994 --- more than enough time to change things if there was a will. Instead, it seems to me anyway, there was graft and corruption...

Obama and elected representatives are not going to stop this. Even if they had the heart to do so - and I personally don't credit any of them with that sort of ethical unselfishness, it's already too late.

SocGen rogue trader Jerome Kerviel 'hit the jackpot' on 7/7

The trader, 32, claimed that his colleagues and superiors had been aware of his actions, which brought him the nickname of le cash machine. He painted a damning picture of the bank’s trading room as earnings soared in the years before the financial crisis.

“The best trading day in the history of Société Générale was September 11, 2001,” he said. “At least, that’s what one of my managers told me. It seems that profits were colossal that day.

“I had a similar experience during the London attacks in July 2005.”

A few days earlier he had bet on a fall in the share price of Allianz, the German insurance giant, he told Le Parisien. Everyone was losing money when the 7/7 bombings sent the insurance sector into a downward spiral “except for me”, he said. “Thanks to the positions I had, I earned €500,000 in a few minutes. It was the jackpot. I was jubilant.”

After the celebrations Mr Kerviel said he paused for thought. “I understood that I was having fun when people had just been hit by the bombs. I ran to the toilet and I was sick. But the moment of weakness did not last long. I went back into the trading room and I returned to work.”

Mr Kerviel also spoke of his financial triumphs in the months leading up to the discovery of his unauthorised trades in January last year. “From August to December 2007, I win every day,” he said. “That creates a sort of addiction. A good day for a normal trader is a profit of €30,000 to €40,000. For me, a €1 million day is rubbish. I take crazy risks. And I make astronomic profits which sometimes give me an orgasmic pleasure.”

He denounced his former colleagues as hypocrites for claiming that they had no idea of his deals after he ran up a profit of €1.4 billion in 2007. “I covered the losses of several of my colleagues,” he said.

Mr Kerviel sought to distance himself from his comments after their publication in Le Parisien, saying that they stemmed from a private conversation and were taken out of context. The newspaper said that he met its journalist six times for on-the-record interviews at the request of his lawyers.
