On Nov 21, 1963, my mother pulled me out of my third grade glass to see the Presidential motorcade drive down Roosevelt Blvd in San Antonio. Our house was five houses from Roosevelt. It was a very nice afternoon and crowds lined both sides of Roosevelt. It seemed like we waited forever. There was one false alarm as some old guy in a pick up truck drove down Roosevelt long after all the traffic had stopped. Finally a bunch of mototcycles came into view followed by the Presidential limonsine with flags proudly flying on the front of the car. We were on the Jackie side of the car but I can still see the vision of the President and Jackie waving.
A day later my mother pulled me out of that thrid grade class after the President had been murdered. As a 8-year old child I just remember wondering how was it that the vibrant man I saw the day before was now dead?
And so began my interest as to whom and why the President was murdered....

Thank you Bernice.
Did you notice the Presidential limosine didn't have a cracked windshield in that picture you posted of it driving in downtown San Antonio?
I wish you and the other Forum members a happy Thanksgiving.
