Which begs the question whether his con artist parents felt safe blackmailing him because they had some kind of evidence exposing his involvement in the Kennedy assassination.

Seems like the conspiracy was so pervasive that someone like Rogers, who worked with the oil/intel underground, was more likely than not to have know some of them.

I have not yet listened to all these links but I read that book about seventeen years ago and recall being blown away by it.(The Man On The Grassy Knoll). Not sure about the Chancy Holt as tramp part. Inspite of the work done by Lois Gibson, I was not convinced it was Holt. But Rogers was definately involved in something terrible, beyond the murder of his parents.

Although this case is vaguely familiar to me, most of my knowledge of it came from reading about it while studying the JFK assassination. During the '50s, I had relatives living in the area near the scene of the murders. And, during the early/mid '60s, I had some friends living nearby as well. So, while I have some recall of some reports about this case along with other Houston area cases in that era, some of them may have created a merge in my memory. This thread is my first memory of reading that Fred Rogers was indicated to be a "Bookie", which for me opens additional possibilities as to why the Rogers couple may have been murdered. I saw a picture of another gentleman in one post, but I did not see any information regarding his identification. I believe I saw where Charles Rogers was 5' 5'' tall, so I wonder how that compares with the so called "short tramp", aka "Frenchy", who has been identified as Harold Doyle. Now I'm not saying Harold Doyle was "Frenchy", but he did confirm that he was indeed the "short tramp". And, without any real expertise but with an opinion, I do seem to see a strong "age progressed" resemblance of the "short tramp" to Harold Doyle as seen in later years in a video made in Dealey Plaza. I believe Harold Doyle has since passed away, but I don't recall his age, while Charles Rogers was reported to be age 43 in '65, which of course made him at least age 41 in November, '63. At this point, I am not of the opinion that Charles Rogers "became" Harold Doyle, and have seen posted pictures of a much younger Harold Doyle that do compare with later pics.
