The Perfidy of Debra Conway: BOYCOTT JFK-LANCER
#11
Charles, please keep the deep political pornography to a minimum

:jawdrop:. Lancer has done some good things...and they have also divided the research community [though it was already divided, and didn't need any further such!]. However, some very good people and good researchers have for one reason or another aligned themselves with Lancer for book deals, speaking, et al....so let us not cast the net too widely. I was shocked when I heard DC had seemingly endorsed the Fixed-Floor Mausoleum's idea of a private party in and around DP on the 50th - those that don't support the WC need not attend, as you won't be admitted - no matter how you dress or how you act....with police enforcement, I'm sure with pleasure. The above apologia / explanation was, to my way of thinking, VERY weak and very half [quarter? eighth?]-hearted. While DC said she'd be holding forth, spreading the word of conspiracy and 'don't believe the official version' from some tiny tuft of grass not under the Pope's and the Police's control [for the city fathers and protectors of Dallas' good image and the secrets of the past], I heard no condemnation of Dunkel and Co. plan. I'm just one small step away from joining in on the condemnation wholesale. Lancer's raison d'etre and modus operandi have always been a tad suspect....but I have been gracious and always given a small degree of leeway and let it slide. I think unless a much more clear and forthright condemnation of the plans for the 50th in Dallas [DP in particular] and Lancer's dissociation from it en toto, I too will join the bruh ha ha...... DC, your moment is now...to explain if you have been a bit naive or complicit. Which is it? Nothing personal...it just happens to involve a coup my country was overthrown in - and the coup leader's heirs still firmly in control! It goes beyond personalities - but, yes, we make our decisions of how to act, think and who to affiliate with one at a time. In this case, I think an act of disaffiliation would be in order.....or your 'rep' and Lancer's name will be in the mud. IMHO. :wirlitzer:

I'm bending over backwards to give you and Lancer one chance more....before I make my mind up once and for all. Again, many good people have been and are affiliated and should be taken on a case by case basis....and not considered as one. See my call [twice, I believe] on this Forum for an 'Occupy'-like event by the PEOPLE on the 50th to stop Dunkel, the Mausoleum, and the City Fraudsters standing in proxy for the Nation ones.

Peter, et al,

The Deep Porn, if you will, was and is offered as satire -- in this case, mordant commentary designed to offend those most in need of being offended, amuse those who can laugh at Debby-Do's stand-up tragedy even as they condemn it, and otherwise find virtue in screaming "FIRE!" in a crowded Book Depository.

Some VERY good, VERY noble, VERY brilliant people -- the likes of Peter Dale Scott, David Mantik, Jim Fetzer (before the fall), Mary Ferrell, my own dear comrade George Michael Evica, and others -- have used JFK Lancer-provided forums to display their work.

Even I have spoken at Lancer conventions -- and God knows I don't put myself in the illustrious company of the above-named. I simply confess the truth.

All of which tells us next to nothing about Debby-Do -- as opposed to her endorsement of the hostile take-over of Dealey Plaza and her subsequent attempt to have it both ways, which tell us a great deal indeed.

I urge everyone currently involved with JFK Lancer to get themselves to COPA as fast as they can.

I know [somewhere] it was briefly mentioned here long ago now, but would the 'group mind and memory' please help me to reconstruct best we can from the outside looking in when and how it came to be that while there were once upon a time a single Dallas yearly convention and group; there than were two. What was the announced purpose for the genesis of this second entity [Lancer]? It truly is a sad to sinister [depending on how one views it] fact that such a paltry number of yearly attendees and speakers are split into two 'camps', two convocations, etc. Such a review might help throw some light on all this.

I agree Deb is keen on controlling what she can. I think Debs problem is of course she runs Lancer as a commercial entity. As a business person you have to schmooze and cruise with scum bags. But I don't see anything inherently sinister in what she does. As Pete says Lancer have put out some excellent work. They have also banned Fetzer from speaking at Lancer lol and they have had the foresight to have CD speak so they can't all be to bad. I saw Jerry Dealey from Lancer has joined up here. He could clear this up.

CD we really should link your interview about Mary's archives here again.

I've certainly had my disagreements with Debra and with the Sixth Floor, and believe they are dead wrong on the Plaza commemorations, but let's use a little common sense.
The Lancer conferences and journal made valuable contributions; Lancer published some good research (including my own work on Oswald's military files); those and other contributions deserve recognition.
As for the Sixth Floor, they've released two valuable DVDs, and Gary Mack has collected a huge amount of materials formerly in private hands, and made it accessible to researchers. His journal Cover-Ups was one of the better ones.
Both deserve recognition for their positive contributions, and not blanket dismissal for their errors. Don't throw the babies out with the bathwater.

The official commemoration shall instill Ein Shooter over the loudspeakers

Baton-wielding police will show a zealotry for capturing protestors they never exhibited toward snipers

Welcoming Jack Ruby, assuring him a ringside seat and a clear shot.

Tiananmen Square will be scrubbed and polished with an obsession like that of Lady Macbeth, out, out damned bullet scrapes, pieces of skull, blood and brains

Leaving only faint echoes of the newspaper editor haranguing over Caroline's tricycle

Treason posters blow down the storm sewers as Dallas washes its hands of the body it had to autopsy and its duty to investigate the murder under Texas law.

The catechism continues to adoration of the immaculate Zapruder film and the noble curatorship of the book burners.

Martin,

First things first: Your presence on DPF is to be celebrated -- although I wish that you had arrived under happier circumstances.

For whatever it may be worth, I take no joy from any of this Conway business. As I've previously stipulated, JFK Lancer-funded conventions, publications (including some of your work), and videos indeed have benefited our shared efforts. I'll further agree that The Sixth Floor's DVDs which you reference are of value.

But aren't all honey traps baited with honey?

And aren't you concerned that Conway and her acolytes are now seeking refuge behind your work and the work of so many others? That they're attempting to deflect attention from the trap and to the honey?

I have not been to a JFK Lancer Dallas convention for more than ten years. Reports I've read on recent gatherings indicate that the very circus atmosphere that is now being used as an excuse to close down Dealey Plaza on the 50th has evolved, at least in part, as a consequence of JFK Lancer actions and/or non-actions. This needs to be clarified. How culpable, if at all, is JFK Lancer in the de-solemnifying of Dealey Plaza anniversary events? If culpability is to be noted, then is it the result of incompetence or something far more sinister?

Earlier on this thread I outlined Conway's self-contradictory stance on the 50th. The kindest interpretation one can give to what she's said and done is that she is a fool without the courage of her convictions. The least kind: That she is the enemy's agent.

Either way, we're screwed.

This morning I read that Conway's mother recently passed. This sad event must be acknowledged, as must its likely impact on the woman whose actions we scrutinize. A truce seems to be in order.

But all truces end. And this war in which we've been engaged for at least 49 years will continue at least until we display the courage to hold ourselves and our deepest, strongest affiliations to the highest imaginable moral, intellectual, and behavioral standards.

In solidarity,

Charles

Seamus: You need to do your homework.
That is all I have to say on this issue. "Cd speaking" there has been addressed elsewhere. By him. Odd given what he wrote you'd note that l-o-n-g ago he spoke there. I doubt Jerry could cler any of this up.
I thought this thread needed to be re-visited and am also bumping it for a new kindered spirit who just joined DPF.

The question no one seems to ask is simple:
Is there a reason for COPA to exist, to unite the serious research community, and to educate the public about the truth (not the mystery or parlor game) of these political assassinations from 1963 to the present and put them in political and historical context?
If yes, then:
Is there a similarly compelling reason for Lancer to exist even if it aspired to do the same thing, which it clearly does not?
If no, then
