[B]The True Face of Egypt's Military

For over a year, Egyptians have wondered who was leading the efforts to frustrate and obliterate their nascent revolution, or what was dubbed in the local media as the "third party" or the "hidden bandit."
But the mystery is no more.

It was none other than the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), the same body that took power from deposed president Hosni Mubarak under the guise of leading the transitional period towards democracy. It was a masterful work of political art.

The final act was on display on Thursday, June 14, 2012, when Egypt's High Constitutional Court (HCC) not only ruled against banning the military's candidate and Mubarak's last Prime Minister, Gen. Ahmad Shafiq, but also dissolved parliament, the only institution that represented the political will of the people in post-revolutionary Egypt. It is important to note that all the justices on the HCC were appointed by Mubarak, and that most if not all are considered regime loyalists.

Unreal. I've followed all closely. A Coup by the Military is the only word for it. In the last few days the Military Council:
- gave the Military permission to arrest civilians
- dissolved the Parliment and have taken over 'legislative' branch for themselves
- issued hours after a 'President' was elected, a constitution that gives the Military Council ultimate control over themselves and the Country. Its the Mubarak Military Dictatorship, without Mubarak - and the US has its Egyptian Military still in place.....nothing changed, but one old dictator out of the picture. The real powers behind the dictatorship are doing fine. Very sad. The Egyptians seem to be too much in shock to react..but I expect huge reactions soon.....and not happy ones.

Its the Mubarak Military Dictatorship, without Mubarak

I'm not so sure this is without Mubarak.I've just never believed the "story" of his ill health.It's strange isn't it,that he suddenly became bedridden when the shit hit the fan?And,then again after his sentence is delivered,he has a sudden heart attack.Nobody has ever shown proof that he is so sick to be bedridden,because they wheel him out for show,and then back to his what,home?To me,it's all part of the grand charade being played on the Egytian people.

And they got played!!!!!....Hillary is smirking deep in the shadows....Thinking,the beasts may need another shipload of munitions.:monkeypiss:

They just went one step further and announced that the newly elected President will have only a short period in office [which time, they will decide when they are ready]....after that....it seems there will be only the Military again.....gone the Legislative, Executive President and hopes of the Egyptian People. There are calls for rallies in the Square in Cairo tomorrow....stay tuned.

NB - the 'logic' they used was Orwellian, at best. the President can not stay long in office as there is no Legislature. The Legislature the Military Council had abolished because it had been elected illegally [according to the Court they control]. There is NO constitution, and if one is written, it will be written by the Military, who have already announced that neither the Legislature [if any] or the President [if any] will have any control OVER the Military; the Military will also have full control over government spending - of all sorts - not just military. They [the Military] will decide all...and have for now decided they are the only body with authority. They will [for a short time] allow a President, who has only ceremonial powers. What a joke.....For this, many Egyptians were in the street for weeks, were beaten/imprisoned/tortured and lost their lives. I think the country will explode sooner, rather than later.....and, yes, I'd fully expect in a few weeks they will announce that Mubarak due to 'ill health' can go home for 'house arrest' - in his luxury villa on the Red Sea.

"Oh Council of Bastards", is a powerful song by Ultras Ahlawy against the Military rulers of Egypt. The Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) is responsible of several crimes committed against the civilian people of Egypt since the start of the January 25, revolution in 2011.

We do not forget SCAF crimes.
We do not forgive SCAF crimes.

SCAF should fear us, as we know our rights and are ready to die for it.

Our revolution is peaceful and we will continue our struggle no matter what is the cost. Freedom is not for free.

US To Egypt's Military: Hand Over Power or Lose US Aid

Egypt's Military Council Completes 'Coup' by Decree

The Obama administration warned Egypt's military leaders on Monday to speedily hand over power or risk losing billions of dollars in U.S. military and economic aid to the country.

Pentagon and State Department officials expressed concern with a last-minute decree by Egypt's ruling military council giving itself sweeping authority to maintain its grip on power and subordinate the nominal head of state. The move followed last week's dissolution of parliament by an Egyptian court.

"This is a critical moment in Egypt, and the world is watching closely," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters. "We are particularly concerned by decisions that appear to prolong the military's hold on power."

Pentagon press secretary George Little said the U.S. was troubled by the timing of the military leaders' announcement, just as polls closed Sunday night for the presidential election. He said the U.S. would urge them "to relinquish power to civilian elected authorities and to respect the universal rights of the Egyptian people and the rule of law."

Its always been 'do as we say, NOT as WE DO!"......I don't even believe this is more than 'lip service' anyway to the Egyptians, who along with the Israelis and Saudis. Bahrain are the more-or-less permanent surrogates for US projection of power in the middle East. They are all 'our' autocracies and dictatorships......but one does have to keep up appearances 'for the neighbors'.:moon: As I write this, Tehrir square in Cairo is full....absolutely full...with angry citizens asking where their revolution was stolen to. I think the Military Council is going to have a rather hot summer on their hands!

Mubarak was just moved from prison to a hospital. It is said by the MSM in Egypt that he has had a stroke and is on a respirator.....
