The CIA Doctors: Human Rights Violations by American Psychiatrists [Paperback]

Colin A. Ross (Author)

Publication Date: February 2006
The C.I.A. Doctors, (Manitou Communications, 2006), uncovers the truth about violations of human rights by American Psychiatrists in the twentieth century. Documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act and cross-referenced research published in leading medical journals expose the existence of mind altering experiments on unwitting human subjects, paid for by the U.S. government, the U.S. Military and the C.I.A. These experiments which inlcude LSD experiments, sensory deprivation, electroconvulsive treatment, brain electrode implants, radiation experiments and prostitution rings were perpetrated not by a few renegage doctors but by leading psychiatrists, psychologists, neurosurgeons, universities, medical schools and maximum security prisons on American soil. Dr. Ross takes you on a mind-blowing fact finding adventure into the secret world of espionage and Manchurian Candidates. Given our situations in Guantanamo and Abu Graib the only question left unanswered is what are the U.S. Government, psychiatrists and medical schools doing today? The C.I.A. Doctors was originally published as BLUEBIRD: Deliberate Creation of Multiple Personality by Psychiatrists in 2000.

Thanks for this link, Ed, as I'd never heard of this book until today.

One of the reviews at Amazon was particularly eye-opening. Because I found it of major interest, I've posted a new thread about it here -

It's an updated version of Colin Ross' book entitled Bluebird, first published in 2000.

Amongst many other virtues, it contains original research into Estabrooks.
"It means this War was never political at all, the politics was all theatre, all just to keep the people distracted...."
"Proverbs for Paranoids 4: You hide, They seek."
"They are in Love. Fuck the War."

Gravity's Rainbow, Thomas Pynchon

"Ccollanan Pachacamac ricuy auccacunac yahuarniy hichascancuta."

Two Amazon Reviews on Bluebird (both rated at 2 stars)

Is Dr. Ross part of a sophisticated containment system?
Quote:This book is a complicated mixture of truth and deceptions, which appears to be designed to hide a crucial problem from the public by placing only a portion of it in plain view. I am a clinical psychologist. The truth in the material Dr. Ross presents is shocking and appalling: that our intelligence and military are systematically creating unwitting mind-controlled slaves using horrifying techniques to deliberately split personalities through the use of hideous trauma and other sophisticated tortures. Many of these techniques are shown in TV and movies, presented as fiction so we discount the possibility of their reality. This report also explains why treatments for mental illnesses which work are being systematically ignored in the mental health professions, a fact which has puzzled me for years. Other parts of the book mislead. For example, all the perpetrators named are conveniently dead: some mere months or weeks before publication. Another example: Dr. Ross states that satanic ritual abuse is not real. Staff of units specializing in Multiple Personality Disorder have told me that when the staff begins to take reports of satanic abuse from patients seriously, funding for the programs has been cut off. It is certainly true that most such units have been closed down, and those which survive are staffed by people who can maintain a studied "therapeutic neutrality". Of course, this lack of support for the validity of the patient's experiences is further traumatizing rather than healing. I will leave it to the reader to draw conclusions about this situation. I regret I consider it unwise to sign my name and full credentials.

and

Full of cowardly omissions
Quote:This was a difficult book to review. While Bluebird contains a great deal of well documented information it completely fails to address the deep connections with ongoing ritual abuse. In addition to Dr. Ross failing to mention ritual abuse in any understandable context he also fails to mention ongoing mkultra projects.

Having known people he's treated, he does them a great injustice by failing to acknowledge ritual abuse and it's connection with mkultra abuses perpetuated by organizations within our military and intelligence community. This book is full of documents, footnotes and tales of the past that have no apparent connection with ongoing activity. He also fails to mention that a majority of these abuses were perpetuated on innocent children.

Dr. Ross's deliberate omissions do almost nothing to those who continue to suffer at the hands of their abusers. Such cowardice is not only ineffective in raising awareness, it also dishonors mkultra survivors by concealing the truth of the unimaginable horrors they survived. Such men are of little use to anyone seeking justice. Survivors need courageous advocates, not librarians copying government files.

It is amazing how a powerful dogma can force myopia and silence in others isn't it.

Not to mention the withdrawal of funding for one who dares to ignore the dogma.
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.

And who are the creators of the dogma? And how was it disseminated? Cui bono?

Everything about Bluebird was illegal and nasty.

Everyone involved in promulgating it were breaking the law.

Everybody piggybacking off of it - those involved in ritual abuse etc - had even nastier agendas.

Altogether this makes a coterie of very powerful people in the military-intelligence-security domain intent on closing down the subject. Withdrawing or threatening to withdraw government funding is one way you could install a dogma like this, I suppose -- all those external university grants etc.

Inside the magic ring, being sidelined, threatened with the possibility of arrest and conviction -and worse - being demoted, pushed out, getting the cold shoulder treatment would be other ways.

When freedom and livelihoods are threatened people modify their values.

This would be my guess anyway.

Another unmentioned aspect is the successful assassinations committed as a direct result of the success of these programs. I think Jan was dead wrong when he said his cited reference showed MK-ULTRA to be largely unsuccessful. The RFK and Lennon assassinations proved it to be just the opposite and this mind-control effort actually proved highly successful in eliminating political enemies while blaming easily accused, apparently mentally-ill patsies for the crimes.

Albert,

If I am interpreting you correctly, you are saying that Jan thought MK-ULTRA was a failure? Jan did not believe that. I wish he were here to write some of his perfect prose to "correct" you. I learned a lot when he did the same for me.

Instead, it is my contention that MK-ULTRA produced Manchurian Patsies. Hypno-narco-trauma conditioning enabled programmers to put a subject into a dissociative state and to task the subject to go to location X and behave in manner Y. Sirhan Sirhan is a perfect example of the form: Manchurian Patsy.

If you go to post 87 in the link below Jan attacked my mentioning Chapman saying I was simplistic, not fit for Deep Politics, and moderated me saying I was being reviewed for banning. I think he did this because I didn't accept Chandler's claims on 9-11. It took me several months to get back on the board after sending protests that it was actually Jan who was seriously wrong on both points that he used as examples of my unfitness. First he tried to claim that my contention that Regime Change had anything to do with JFK's assassination was wrong (read it yourself) and that the entire notion of Regime Change was just a popular phrase gotten from the media after the Iraq invasion. Jan prevented me from responding by moderation so I couldn't point out that any simple research into Regime Change would show Kennedy was both highly aware of and worried about it as pointed out by DiEugenio. Kennedy was highly stressed by Lumumba, Mossadegh, Sukarno, Diem and many others. Any look at the Wikipedia article on Regime Change would show it was firmly installed as a CIA practice long before JFK and was actually a large part of why he was moving against CIA, as DiEugenio describes. When I asked Jan to post my protest and reply he refused. After being backwardsly and wrongly accused there wasn't a single board member who pointed-out Jan's gaffe.

Jan's second reason for moderation is he said his linked reference was the one and only final say on Chapman and MK-ULTRA and any other view, especially mine, was a sign of incompetence and lack of board fitness. In my reply I pointed out that MK-ULTRA was probably highly successful, as proven by the RFK and Lennon hypno-programmed assassinations. I also added that maybe Jan hadn't stopped to consider that his source might actually be a disinformationist trying to play down that success.

Jan's reply:

Quote:It's never stopped you , "Albert Doyle".

You really think the assassination of RFK was entrusted to Sirhan Sirhan the Manchurian Candidate?

SmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

However, since you've been a member of DPF for several years and you've been involved in threads where I've discussed this before, in my judgement your multiple identities are now confirmed.

Be seeing ya...

I believe Jan got caught up in his Drago fervor and wasn't checking basic reality. While accusing me of board unfitness he ran roughshod across the recent Pepper revelations of Sirhan's hypnotic programming. I then took a board vacation for several months after this post with no one pointing-out any of these glaring flaws on Jan's behalf. Jan, of course, referring to his writings as gospel and anyone challenging them as Sunstein agents deserving banishment.
