Happy Thanksgiving - Truly thankful for my NE relatives' safety
#1
I have a family on the Jersey Shore... luckily a bit south of the worst of it just South of Atlantic City... we are rebuilding the 1st floor of a 100 year old family home that had a 3 foot surge of bay/ocean water was everything including a car... away...

no one was hurt and family living there is fine.... yet seeing the devastastion elsewhere
and the water coming up the driveway yet not into my brother's house

I am truly thankful.

Best wishes for a safe healthy holiday season...
thanks for making me feel so welcome here.

You are very welcome here David and there is indeed much to be thankful for where ever we may live. I am pleased to hear that you family remained safe from the worst of the effects of Sandy. Happy Thanksgiving holiday to all our US members and lurkers! Confusedanta:
"The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways. The point, however, is to change it." Karl Marx

"He would, wouldn't he?" Mandy Rice-Davies. When asked in court whether she knew that Lord Astor had denied having sex with her.

“I think it would be a good idea” Ghandi, when asked about Western Civilisation.

Yes yes. As bad as things are here in the States there are many places where unspeakable conditions are the norm. I too am glad your family is ok. Property damage is terrible but can be repaired.
